    Video help

Hi, I've just figured out how to use the recording thing on the BF2... and can play it back now...

The next step is to turn the files file1-def.bf2cam/file1.bf2demo into an AVI or mpeg or etc. but I am not sure how, I was thinking of using Fraps while in the playback mode? Is that a good idea? Or are there any other ways to make these files into an mpegs?

Thanks, Ps, looked at the forum but could not find any help on how to turn the files into avis....

except for one topic, it has an explanation on how to conver them into avis, but it's too complicated for me... it says I should open up command prompt... and type in:

demo.cmd +r "name of demo" "name of cam file" and then I just get lost there... I've tried entering that, with the names of the files, but nothing happens... I've tried on the com prompt as well as on the console in BF2 but it ain't working...

    Any help? thanks :)

I have the recorded file runing, and am able to control the camera views etc etc etc... - how do I make this into an avi at the same time? becausi I can not open file1-def.bf2cam using windows media player... I can only open it using battlelauncher... if you know what I mean?

www.fraps.com , .. when u watch it with battlelauncher, then record it with FRAPS. I think that's it. I've never used BattleLauncher myself, but BattleRecorder (BF2 default demo recorder) is with this method. GL

Yeh I have tried using Fraps... but it crashed my BF2 both times

I've tried using these steps: http://www.battlefieldrecorder.com/ (there is a topic with the same tutorial on here somewhere as well) - but:

              ---Converting to AVI-------------------------------------

              1. In your command prompt type the following command:
demo.cmd +r "name of demo" "name of cam file"
              ---Example: demo.cmd +r demo8 mydemocam--------------

I can not figure out how to do this lol...

If you have recorded your footage demo.recordemo filename and recorded your camera. Open battlelauncher select your footage file and camera file then select to render. Then it will prompt you for what codec to use - avi mpeg Divx

                  Re: Video help

                  Is it:

Select the files I've recored (file1.bf2demo and file1-def.bf2cam ?) then in the PARAMETERS click on Launch Modes and from the menu choose RECORD DEMO AND CAMERA TRACK TO VIDEO? (this does not prompt me for anything) so do I just ckick RUN to run the BF2+recording and then it will render into a movie? And maybe after I finish, it will then ask me to choose what codec to use? Am I correct?

By the way, this is what I've got so far, run the recorded file and used fraps to campture it lol... but it crashed around 32 seconds, the following is just a repeat... ps, I know my graphics are poop, but I can not afford a decent PC, using my laptop and run BF2 on all low/off video settings :P lol

ok I#m upping it to youtube...

Smiley_ie - I have done it, figure it out, thanks mate! :) Thanks for helping me with this.

Though, when I run all of that stuff, the BF2 froze on load, I Alt+Tabed it and that caused BF2 to crash as well

I'll figure out something, at least I've figured this thing out thanks again, everone :)

video (recorded with battlelauncer+fraps) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JF6x9YqMWYc - this is just a little test, I hope to get better at this with time :)

Okay, good try, but I'll give you some tips:
Singleplayer movies aren't great to make movies about
                        Better music would be good
A storyline would be very good

Now a hint: bring down console, hit "rendere.drawhud 0" .

                          Re: Video help

Deffinatelly, I want to do some videos on multiplayer, single player was just to try/test/learn things a bit. And what is wrong with the music? It's Dimmu Borrgir! hehe...

I have loads of ideas/story lines in my head, just gotto master thins thing out first lol...

                          "rendere.drawhud 0" . - what is this? :) What does it do?

By the way, when I closed the Battlelaucher, it prompted me saying: some BF2 file was changed by this program and I had to replace it with the backup that battlelauncher had created in order to be able to play games online or something like that - is this normal?
