Wierd text in EF

i got my version of EF running today, but when the loading screen appears, the next strange thing !



anyone an idea why the names are that strange and in the left upper corner : HUD TEXT MENU ::::?



all names fu**ed up, even the name of the weapons if i get killed or i kill someone !
anyone ?

try uninstall / reinstall no one wants to do it, but hey what can ya do

yes, i'm really afraid of uninstalling this crap, cause i needed 6 day to get it work

Seems to be an error in your localization files, possibly missing the new ones that came with euro force. Best thing to do is reinstall.

seems to be no other way, i posted the issue on ea.uk.forums and they don't know eighter...
thanks so far, i will post next week if it works for me or not ...

its a problem with locale recognition. You may not need to reinstal - instead, try doing a repair. If that doesnt work, reinstal is your only option.

uninstalling and reinstalling ea downloader and euro force didn't help.

sounds like you may need to uninstall and re-install the whole lot. meaning bf2 itself, and euro forces/special forces whatever you may have.

make sure and delete all profiles and program files as well when you un-install.

unlike SF, in order to uninstall EF you need to uninstall the entire BF2 install...

i am having this same issue myself and did a complete reinstall to resolve this and other issues. unfortunately the corrupt naming in EF appeared once again..

anyone had any luck with this annoyance?

Well i guess you might have to call EA customer support. Like someone said is something to do with the files name. Did you do any editting to the regular BF2 game files. It almost looks like when you edit the files.

i would probably have better luck here or in the EA forums (i';ve posted there as well here http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread....arsid=1291508&) rather than calling EA.

when i first installed EF ( before the complete uninstall/reinstall ) the only modification i had made what the renaming of the movies so they won't load at startup' trick . i tried restoring them to their original names and that did nothing. After the complete reinstall i left it completely clean up to the point of EF and 1.21 patch, loaded up EF and still had the corrupt names. The only issue i ran into in the reinstall was a corrupt 1.21 patch off the EA site, surprise surprise, which would quit about 1/2 through. i then found the 1.21 patch elsewhere and continued through to EF. I then installed SF after all this, so it is not SF causing the problem.

I'm gonna take a closer look through my files in \My Documents\ as well as the \Program Files\ dir. If i find nothing, and when i get some time, i *may* do annother complete reinstall... pain in my ass
