Why no promotion?

I'm sitting around 32,000 pts right now as Master Sergeant. Why haven't I been promoted to First Sergeant? My bar showing my progress towards the next rank has been maxed for about the past 2 weeks. So I looked up my character at BF2s.com and it's showing my next rank is Sergeant Major, which is at 50,000. Did the new patch do away w/ 1st Sergeant? Am I being screwed? lol

I have almost all veteran badges for my kits. Is there a badge I need to get to be promoted? I'm only missing Basic Engineer and Basic Explosives. The rest I'm working on veteran badges.

Any help would be awesome.

You can't get First Sgt. unless you have ALL your basic badges before promotion.

I thought you only had to get the basic KIT badges. (i.e. basic combat badges) which I have all. Bummer. I've been trying for this damn repair badge for a while and can't seem to get 5 repair points. lol

Alright, let me know if you can answer this. If I'm already on my way to Sergeant Major, is it another 20,000 pts from my promotion? Or just 50,000 in general, therefore getting me promoted faster?

Sweet.... anyone have hints for me to get basic explosives? I'm thinking throwing down C4 in Karkand.

well as much as I hate it, claymores in karkand will yield it very quickly....more than likely in one round.

Hmm.. actually, I have the same problem. I'm sitting at 35 000 pts and I DO have all the badges I need to get 1st Sergeant and I've been there for the last two-three weeks... but no promotion in sight...

You can't go from Master Sergeant to First Sergeant.
