Connection to the server lost

I keep getting the message mentioned in the title when I am in the middle of gaming..

I have tryed the basics such as updaing PB manually but I still get kicked from the servers.

I dont think it is my internet as I can join the servers again straight away after, but once I am in again it will keep kicking me with the same error.

Its quite intermittant, I can have some sesions where it doesnt bother me at all, abd then it will just happen.

If anyone has had this problems or knows how to fix it please let me know.

Hi

I had a similar problem (got kicked all 2 minutes for no reason). Try to shut down all XP startup programs (Start -> Run -> msconfig -> last tab startup).
You might have a problem with another program blocking vital ports. Also run a spyware check (recom. AD Aware personal... it's free on the web). Let me know if it works,

Thanks for the help so far...

I am running on a wireless connection, but have been for all 340 hours of playing the game and it is only recently that the problem has begun.

I have also done all the spyware checks and I am completly clean :)

Any more ideas?

since ur on wireless u will be going through a router, have u opened the ports needed for BF2?

i had the same problem on my wireless i stopped using it and stuck back to wired but the error i got was linked to gamespy :s afaik i had all my ports open at the time but will hav to check again..

(from a problem started by someone else i know become the a recipient lol )

The only BF2 related port I have open is 16567. Considering I played for 300 hours odd without the problem do you really think it could be that?

Also wired internet really isnt an option as I have walls in the way. I have a wireless base station to pick up the signal rather than a wireless card in the back of my pc as it has better signal.

Ive had the same problem for since I built my new PC and installed the new patch. Ive got an AMD 4400+ Dual core and this is what made the error come up for me, after anywhere from 5 secs - 30 mins it would randomly kick me back to the multiplayer screen.

Sorted it by setting the affinity to just CPU 0, if youve got dual core log into your account, get on main screen, CTRL+ALT+DEL and set the BF2.exe affinity to CPU0 and see if that helps. Tons of people are having problems with this same error atm.
