when i boot up BF2 it gives me a black screen with the curser and sound but i cant see anything any one have an idea of whats wrong?

Do you get the spash screen?? Your settings in BF2 video are probably wrong.
Try this....
Right Click on the BF2 icon you normally start the game with.
In the Target: box it should end with FullScreen = 1
Change that to FullScreen = 0
That will open (try) BF2 in a window. You might be able to catch the error box that pops up. If it says something about 1024x768@85Hz not supported or something then I'll post how to fix that. -
