Joystick Help!!

I've heard a lot about what joystick is good and bad for BF2.

I just have a few questions, and if your not sure about something please dont say anything, I dont want to take your adivce and go buy a crappy joystick if you dont know what your talking about.:)

1), How do you mod a Xbox controller into USB, I have 4 of them and wouldnt mind giving 1 up to use on BF2.????

2) The Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick, Its around $30, is it a good joystick for BF2?.. Or are there any others out there better that are around $25-$40.?

I have a logitech Extrem 3d Pro and it is great! I have not had a single problem with it. Some users have reported that they break down after heavy usage, but this has not been the case for me.

The Logitech has a great comfortable feel to it. I found the Saitek equivalents to be as not as comfy and user friendly.


Are there enough buttons on the XBOX controller? Seems like you would be pretty limited.

My Community only uses the Logitech 3D PRO and you can rebuy and return at best buys forever!

Why do you need some many buttons to fly Helis and Jets in BF2, you only have Rockets and Missles. what are the 12 buttons for?

Saitek 290ST Pro was $20 at Radiohack. Requires a bit of tweaking but I like it.

You have flares, mouse look, rockets, machine gun, view change, throttle, & TV missle. The joystick was not "specifically" designed for BF2, no joystick is. They are meant to be used with other flight sim games that is why so many buttons.
