i absolutely HATE future FPSes with the exception of Halo....i cannot stand them. Hopefully when this comes out, people will still play BF 2

hmm... i really, really dont like the whole sci-fi thing... i mean the mechs and the invisibility... it just isnt bf.
but you never know... it could be good

I have no problem with the futuristic thing... I just see it as another aspect of awesome gameplay and having to find new relms of stratagy. I was a really big Tribes 2 player though, so I guess the whole "future fps" thing isn't that big a deal for me as most find it to be.

Hehe, the most futuristic game I've played was maybe Doom 2, or possibly Quake 2 - whichever takes place in the farthest future.




Both were great fun when I was like 13 pr 14yo... I dare to guess BFfuturistic will not entertain me now at 21yo. More chance of QW doing that....

Wish it were only porn they blocked at work. My site feels fit to block political sites and many other things too. In addtion to the blocked site list they have a content filter which parses pages for inappropriate stuff and blocks on the fly. Pretty annoying.

ok this is my two cents

it first started off with bf42: a wonderful game which gameplay was fun and competive

then battlefield vietnam came out, not as good in my opinion but still fun to play

BF2 took a more futuristic curve, some of the technology of that game is very top notch and not made yet, and the graphics are amazing. it was a scare for me because i, personally, am not a big fan of sci fi stuff. i like games that can act as simulators and teach you a real life lesson, and i am really happy that i am addicted to this game. im sorry to be a flamer, but my god EA this game looks ridiculous, and i am very disappointed that they are gonna be spending time making this and not as much time trying to fix the game they keep breaking. im done now.

I'm not teally surprised. BF2 was probably made with teens as the target group and since they got it done well and attracted alot of teens then they will make another teenie game with this bf2142...

If I play it when it comes out I'll be alittle embarassd if I ever were to play such a teenie game

btw, dont get to excited about these screens, they probably are all not actually what it will look like like the early BF 2 screens with the BH's with rockets etc.

I think 2142 will be sweet as hell. I dont see how it harms anyone anyway. If you read the community updates, you will see they dont just STOP working on one game and start on another.

DICE Canada studio will be hard at work on a 1.3 update for Battlefield 2, as well as the Armoured Fury Booster Pack.

I dont think this will kill BF2 in any way unless the majority of the BF2 players migrate to this new series.

BF2 was huge, a long awaited sequel to '42 and the hype was amazing. 2142 will fall flat on its face due to Quake Wars, they know what they are doing and there is a lot of hype about it because it looks awesome and takes Quake to a new level. 2142 is just BF2's Vietnam, it will flop but be "ok" to play every now and then, they should wait a couple of years before launching the next one
