Basic but I think why it is not in the game!

I’ve used Ventrilo in one match as I wanted to see just what a difference it makes. Wow I could help my team by shouting we knew what the others were doing and were to the hit the enemy.. It was a clan server I was invited on and only the clan side had the team speak on and there was just no denying it with each of us able to interact they were completely dominated and brushed aside, the enemy didn’t even come close.

So after this I think that was fantastic I could shout at the guy just in front of me I was backing up the there was an enemy soldier etc there or tank coming, it quite a shock when you go back to the limited public servers and frustrating when you cant tell the guy in front with out typing( yeah by then its too late) to watch out or what your doing.

Why was this not a basic building block of the original game. Why when you put your aiming sight over your team mate cant you just hit V and say watch out mate…..

This to be expanded on out of the box. I’ve worked telling players thing but only in commander mode.

there should be a general broadcast mode for players yes but the VoIP for squads only works well - people feel more comfortable talking to 2-5 people in a squad rather than the whole 32 on a team
the reason people use ventrillo is because they know eash other outside the game arena which makes communication easier
nobody uses VoIP in other online games except in clans - at least it is used in BF2

probably why it wasnt included - the squad voip is excellent
besides if you have teamspeak or ventrillo you can use both if you need to

i just use teampseak the ingame voip has horrid quality can barely hear people sometimes.

The clan that I'm in uses Ventrilo exclusively (shout out to {USI}_~MadMan~ for providing!) It absolutely makes a huge difference in gameplay. Comms are important in this game, or any other like it.

Some people want anyone in a vehicle to be able to talk to anyone else in that vehicle automatically. Well, maybe... but I doubt DICE would take the time to change the code. There is a way, and that's to create a squad and invite those into that squad. I've done that many times for the BH on Mashtuur. I even named the squad BH WHORES sometimes, lol. That way, everyone in the BH can communicate, and do better.

Being able to speak to anyone on your team would be a nightmare I think. Imagine the immature ones screaming obscenities all game long!

I would not want a general chat - too many idiots saying "Owned", "OMG", "Hacker" and just generally nattering away as if everyone cares what is going on with them at that moment. The squad VOIP is fine.

Although I will say I like using teamspeak with my clanmates - it makes a big difference when yu can say "I'm throwing a grenade" before they run into the building.

I don't like the VoiP either, like someone said its quality its horrible. But in public servers that's really the only thing you can use to communicate with someone you don't know. For my clan I use TS2 and for my other games I use ventrilo to talk to my friends. But in my opinion TS2 is the best communication client right now. And if your in same channel as your whole team, just set up whispers with the people you only want to talk to. :)

Didn't know they had a TS2... I'll have to check it out. Having used both gamma, do you think TS2's voice quality is better than Ventrilo's?

Yes SO19 is correct, it barely ever lags and has great voice quality, you sould try it out.:)

Ok, I've never had Ventrilo lag for me, but was more interested in voice quality. I think Ventrilo's is great, but I will try TS2 to do a side-by-side comparison. Thanks!

Really the only time Vent lags for me is when someone is joining the server while im playing a game.(joining the vent server i mean)
