Read:

I'll be blunt.

If you make a thread that promotes EA/DICE hate mongery I will delete it and issue a 1 week ban.
If you stir up flames or troll legitimate discussions on EA's products or marketing techniques you will receive a 1 week ban.

If you want to post a thread DISCUSSING the new 1.2 patch, then by all means go for it. :)
If you want to post a flaming rant about how you cannot noobtoob/throw C4/airwhore or whatever else then go here: http://forum.eagames.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=6

Any threads about 1.2 that are posted solely to troll and **** people off will be removed from the forum, along with the poster for 7 days. :o

If I were to follow this rule right "now", I would have to ban at least 30 people for a week. I don't want to do that. I definetly can not warn everyone one by one since there are so many of you violating this rule. Please watch your posts and threads. Especially the current 2142 threads are getting out of hand. If you want to discuss the game, fine, do it in a civil and constructive manner without flaming or making hate posts.

I have warned people about this so many times, but they are not listening. I shouldn't warn them again, but I really don't want to ban people for this. Just remember that this will be my last warning on this issue, if you recieve a 1 week ban instantly, don't come and tell me "what did I do?"

^^ dont be smart about it.. its really quite annoying, yes there are mistakes in the game, but they are working on getting them sorted and flaming/hate posts are not helping...

I agree. DICE and EA's involvement in the community is much better than a lot of other companies'. If I were DICE and EA and all I saw were threads about how much the community disliked my company I would probably have a lot less motivation to work with them to resolve issues.

Hey I dont like the whiner threads either, but this is a public forum. A one week ban is over the top. You could lock it and place it in garbage, I dunno. If the same person repeatedly creates these threads, then ban him.
Or create a forum area just for that topic ---> HATE EA HERE... then they have a place to rant and feel better, and Dice can still see them if they wish.

Banning should be a last resort.

If you start banning because of topic title then I will never visit these forums again.

and that post by Drunken Pirate is purely Admin Abuse.

That would be the wrong way to look at it they should try and work with thee posts and make the community feel better about there products


Dont get me rong with my comments above i did love this game but the patches have made it crap and no it is not because i cant dolphine dive or any other gameplay tweaks they made i like the gameplay tweaks but for me there are too many bugs which dice/EA dont seem to want to fix or even worse dont know how to fix

I think its badly worded and confusing but essentially it means you cant post
"I hate EA because they suck"
but you can post
"I hate EA because; 1. Customer support is less well informed than the community ................. " etc.
Basically well rounded and backed up arguments are fine.

So long as that is the case it only serves to enhance discussion's and may even help EA understand the areas they are failing in.
Its a long way from Admin abuse given that.

However including "hate mongery" suggests that if someone is swayed in there opinion of EA from your account of actual events that you will get a week long ban, which i really dont think is what the rule is meant to mean.

But im guessing because its not clear.

I agree with stan. It sounds like any worthless "EA suck", I r0x0r5!" posts should be deleted. As should any other flamebait or trolls. Banning, well I dunnoe. Seems a little harsh, but what the hell. It's their forum.

I do on the other hand support saying things like "EA suck because (fill in well thought out argument about EA are perceived to have done and why it is bad for gameplay).

That is where you are mistaken. This is a website owned by a private person (or persons) who chooses to allow you and I to participate in the forums. You can play by their rules or start your own site and make your own rules.

Have you read through many posts lately? There are so many thoughtless rants and flames that add zero value to the forums. Then there are really good ones (PlaneWhore) that criticize but with suggestions and ideas rather than a mindless rant. I think they do a pretty good job of allowing free expression and ban people far less often than they should.

I actually understand the massive frustration of those who are having critical performance issues when their hardware is up to (or above) spec. I'd be super ****ed about spending 50 bucks on a game with hardaware that exceeds recommended spec and won't run without problems at the lowest settings. Those people have a legit gripe, but should take time to craft intelligent posts rather than a wicked rant. Same goes for actual bugs in the game. Feel free to complain, but take a moment to put thoughts down rather than spewing venom. If you go through the support forum there are cases where users have helped other users solve problems by making a constructive post. The flaming threads don't end up getting much help.

If you were EA/DICE would you want to be responsive or supportive so someone who is just cussing you out? I wouldn't. I've been a programmer for almost 15 years and my level of helpfulness in a support situation is directly related to the attitude of the customer seeking support. If they are hostile my level of interest in helping them reaches near zero.

I think that DICE has made a mistake in listening too much to users who have complained about game balance issues (insert topic here, PKM, choppers, AA, etc) when they should have focused on performance issues and legit bugs (red-blue tag, etc). Accuracy of the PKM or AA are not bugs, they are a matter of opinion. While I respect and value the opinions of others, they are just that and can be (or are likely to be) wrong.
