What weapons are carbines?

So far, I know that:

M1A4
AK-47

...I'm not even sure those are...

Just looking to improve my carbine rating :)

Does anyone know the propper carbine weapons class?

assault rifles are assualt rifles in stats

carbines in real life means short rifle (thats the lamens definition)

I thought it was the spec op weapon since I played that kit so much, my time with the carbine is alot.

I would this so too, I tried the medic weapons, and they register as assault rifles
