Cruise Control in vehicles

Once you are driving in a ground vehicle, hold W, and press J once while you are moving. Your vehicle will now be in Cruise Control. You will still be able to rotate your cannon, talk, move your vehicle left and right, and everything else while your vehicle is in cruise control.

Anyone try this, does it actually work? I'm at work so can't try it right now

it will make it so the car keeps going, but you wont be able to steer at all. You can aim though.

The reason it happens is that it starts talking, so stearing will result in you saying alot of...

I accidently do this quite a lot and wonder why my chopper is not doing what I want it to!

I don't think going left or right would work because j is the chat button and hitting a or d will put a or d in the chat window. but yes, you can keep going in a straight line.

It's the chat button, isnt it ? So yes..even when running I've pressed j or k or smth to type, and my character keeps running :P

I've done the same thing with the caps lock key.

It works in all vehicles, and the same thing would happen in BF1942. The only thing it was good for was using ingame chat while flying.

yeah, i do it all the time, like on Wake, when im Chinese and the US has capped all the flags but one, i swim the cove and cap the deserted one on the opposite side. but i dont feel like holding down "W" so i just press "J" "K" or "L" and leave my computer for a minute or 2, you know, take the **** ive been holding for 20 minutes because i want my damn points, or get a glass of something to drink, make a sandwich, or on the case of this particular body of water, PAINT A FRIGGIN MASTERPIECE!

And to think, I've been using a Masterlock to weigh down my movement keys for those long swims.

HAHA, I experienced the opposite of this once!

I was driving along in a vehicle toward a flag, and was typing to the rest of my team when one of those C4 jeeps ran into me. In a panic I was hitting the "E" button to get the hell out before buddy had a chance to blow me all to hell, but as much as I pressed it, I would not leave the vehicle. He eventually blew me up, but the end result must have looked pretty funny in the chat window

Awesome tip......don't think I'll do the long swim though. Never noticed that...
