BF 2142 really MTS?

I assume you all have seen the video of the so called "Battlefield 2142" game. If not, it is available to view here:

A long while back there was a mod called Mech Tactical Simulation, which involved Mech units and futuristic weaponry. In fact, some of the models look very similar. Does anyone actually know what happened to the MTS team? Perhaps they have something to do with this BF2142 game....

the mechs in the video look nothing like the MTS mod. I'm pretty sure that they don't have anything to do with this game, it was just the next logical battlefield arena to go to.
