Reformatting Comp. How to save Rank?

I am at the point of completely reformatting my comp. Does anyone know how I can save my rank and awards so that I do not have to start from scratch?

Also, any personal tips and ideas about complete comp reformat would be helpful. Cheers!! :)

Rank and awards are not stored on your computer. They are stored on EA's (actually gamespy's) servers. All you will have to do is retrieve your account.

EA stores those, not you. If you did, it would be too easy to go in and hack them to get high ranks

So go ahead, hopefully it will work better for you than me.

Ok..here is another question....when I log into BF2 they ask for player name and password, etc, etc. So you are saying that all I have to do is just type in my old username and pass? What if they say that is already taken?

You go to manage accounts and you click the retrieve account button. then you type in your email and they retrieve your account

I would say copy your /my documents/bf2/ profiles folder, and once you reinstall, copy it back if needed. I keep a copy of mine just incase of disaster, so i dont have to re-assign all my key binds and settings.

Signa that is for saving singleplayer profiles I believe.

I would say copy your /my documents/bf2/ profiles folder, and once you reinstall, copy it back if needed. I keep a copy of mine just incase of disaster, so i dont have to re-assign all my key binds and settings.

yup, that will totally work. thats what i did when i reformated, i just pasted that folder back in after reinstalling bf2, and it was like i didnt change a thing.

thats a sig graphic from tehsig.com, sign up its free and they have a few to choose from. mine is a custom one someone else designed.
