Missile lock-UAV?

Does anyone know why you can only shoot the UAV down with bullets/cannons. AA missiles do not see them? Wtf. Not overly bothered, BF2 is the best game I have ever played, Just wandering thats all.

reallife explanation? very low heat signature
ingame explanation? the uav is very short lived anyway - making it useless wouldnt do the game any good

Because the UAV does not produce enough heat, and it would make it too easy to shoot it down.

agreed, you need to work on it.... I've taken them down from the gunners position in a helo, but I'm curious, anyone have any luck with small arms fire on these things? It'd be valuable in match play :)

Took an entire magazine from my PKM to take it down..

It was quite difficult to hit when its flying so high and being so small

i hit it with machine gun and it went down quick enough no probs, although i use it to indicate were the next art is coming down.
