i played on a ranked one today, knife/pistol/c4 only, but when i recconected theyd changed the server name and made all weapons allowed

Because they are 'illegal' .. I hope you don't mind having your stats wiped. Because that's what happens when people join ranked knife/pistol only servers.

Your wrong, Ive been into a pistol/knife only server and it was ranked, thats where I got my expert knife and pistol badge.
I mean it wasnt OFFICIALLY pistol/knife, but the admins warned and kicked whoever used anything other then pistol knife ..... so I took advantage and scored expert knife and pistol badge before the server went back to normal again.

Bad idea. Like I said before, stats get wiped for anybody caught on one of those servers.

I'm curious why you're asking. I think the initial reaction would be that you're looking for on to stat pad on. But I tend to think that you either ran across one or got booted from one. I've been subject to both of the latter. Unfortuantely, its a 50/50 mix of people who legitimately want to have a limited fight, and who just want to get their pistol and knife badges. My advice is to stear clear of ranked pistoland knife servers because you might get your stats whiped. Just dedicate a weekend to getting those badges and dont use anything other than pistol and knife. These are the easiest of the very very hard badges you're going to be trying for. Most of the higher higher bades will get you kicked from a server while trying for them. Good luck!

BTW a great way to practice is in single player. I can get most of my kills with a pistol on there. Just set the difficulty to the highest setting and go crazy, friendy fire as well. Just kill everyone. Get used to aiming, reloading, and how many shots it takes at what distance.

The ONLY reason to ask for a ranked pistol/knife/c4 only server is for stat padding.

And it is against the official ROE for ranked servers.
