    Sony Computer and PCI Video Carded NEEDED HELP

    Hi

    My Friend has a sony vivo and for some reason i try to install a Geforce fx 5500 (works on my other computer) it wont see the carded windows xp does but bios will not and keeps uses the INTEL 9 Extreme Ingrated carded and not even year old
    1. i have update the drivers
    2.reseed it to
    3.i have put the least nvida drivers in there

    Intel P4 3.0 GHZ
    512MB DRR 400 MHZ
    300 watt power supply (Video Carded only needs 240-250 watts)
    Ingrated Intel Video Carded
    Ingrated Sound Carded
    80 Gig hard drive
    Windows xp (Sp2)
    And More

        There might be an option to make the PCI/AGP card have priority over the onboard. Look for that.

            a nother check got the screen tab under properties and make sure you have the montier en-abled..or call best buy or a local computor store for some advice.

                right click on the desktop and go to properties, then setings see if u can change the display, also make sure ur plugging the monitor into the right slot if ur plugging it into the integrated graphics slot its not gonna use the other card.

                  There will be a way into the BIOS, it does have one as it even says in the manual, but it does say how to get into the BIOS. Try hitting F3 or F2, been looking on the web and that's what they recommend.

                      It will be in the BIOS, there should be option somewhere.

                        You can apparently install a 2nd adapter but can't disable the onboard.

                            Yeah, I'd never recommend integrated video in a desktop system even for someone who had no interest in gaming. Even a cheap PCI card gives you more flexibility in upgrading.
