...is leting his people to keep spawning on the carrier even when most of the flags belong to USMC, so it takes them extra time to get in the choppers and get on the main land, during which time the enemy will cap undefended flags.
Only the commander should stay on the carrier do defend it from base rapers, and maybe few of the best pilots should be allowed to respawn there, not everybody. On the other hand the best pilots don't get shot that easy, so all the stupid people that keep respawning on the carrier instead of on the main land, are noob players without common sense. Of course once they respawn there, they'll spend 10 min waiting and not doing anything, since the jets and the cobra are not there, and they don't wanna take the blackhawk.
But if the commander is not effective in the AA he should step out by all means. My point: don't assume that every commander is ineffective in the AA, check the number of their AA kills first.
However what I'm annoyed the most by is when the commander is ignoring your requests for supply or UAV, especially supply drops. This is even more annoying when they haven't dropped the supplies anywhere else.

i drop supply box and when everyone is around it i hit them with artillery. nice.

Oh, here is one. I am a sniper squad leader on the tall building on karkand at the square. My squad is spawing on me(did not start as a squad leader) so everything was real cool. Then the comander decides to drop artillary right on top of me because of the enemy. Does he not look at the map. My guys are there spawning on me. If he would have aimed a little away from the building, I would have been fine. But, no, he said I should have moved because of the artillary coming in . You do not lay ARTY in the middle of your troops who are on top of building, duh. We lost the flag and could not get back to my spot again....thanks comander.....and I told him what I thought about it too. He did not even ask me or nothing. I was in that spot, and If I thought we needed ARTY, I would have requested it.

That still irks me.....What the h*** was he thinking.

so many people complain about commanders sitting in the essex phalanx cannons, but people dont realize that there are two of them.

if the commander is in one, why dont you just run to the other one?

For me, it's when the commander calls artillery on a base that has a bunch of his teammates defending it, because then, the friendlies leave to avoid the artillery, the enemy does not go in, because there is artillery, and everything gets screwed up.

Another is when the enemy commander finds out that I am sniping on top of some out of the way building, and calls artillery on my position. I know, this may sound like me just complaining that I keep getting killed by artillery when I'm sniping, but I'm sure it's very annoying for his team seeing that he wasted artillery on one lone sniper out in the middle of nowhere. Oh well. Maybe I'll just go after him next.

Vehicle whoring. I played karkand the other week and a commander sat in a jeep at the rear base on the US team. I told him to get out as he refuse to use it to drive me and three other guys down to the fight... he just kept saying negative negative. .. i dropped a nade through the window.. and away me and the boys went!

The tosser punished me thoug... and then about 15 minutes later he purposefully threw himself infron of my vehicle so he could punish me again for the tk..

I'm glad that I read this thread. Because as a commander I do sometimes sit in the AA near the conning tower and didn't know that it bothered anyone. Most of the time it seems like it's not even manned. I guess that I'll have to find a good hiding spot and command from there.

My tip for being a commander is to BE the commander. The commander isn't a front line fighter and should do their best to stay alive. That way when your team does need you you're not looking at the spawn screen.
