EA says' NO to New EF Kits on Vanilla Maps

I for one am very disapointed that we cannot use the new kits on the vanilla BF2 maps! It has been my experience that with all expansion or booster packs in games that the players always revert back to the original vanilla game if the expansion in not fully incorporated into the base vanilla game. I think we can all agree that this is definatly the case with the Special Forces expansion pack. Very few servers are running the maps, and most people that purchased it are back to playing vanilla maps mainly because that's where the majority of players are. Not counting the severe lag problem with SF maps.

Those who purchased the SF expansion can at least use the SF kits in vanilla so WHY can't we who purchased Euro Forces use the new EF kits on vanilla maps???

Based on this I may think twice before buying another booster pack.

Once again EA shows just how far their heads are up their asses... Nothing would be better than a BF2 game the combined all the new content, including the SF expansion, under one roof so to speak, but EA is F'd beyond belief..

I read something about a limit of weapons that can be used because of a memory problem. So they can only have a set number or things get messey.

I already gave them a viable solution for the memory issue. They're just mean.

Some Euro Force weapons are available on all vanilla maps..I'm AT and get to use the p90 whenever I want and I'm happy with that

Basically having 2 unlock choices per kit is pretty good, in my opinion.

Remember that the L9 and P90 are the missing unlocks from SF, not unlocks from EF.

Not really...they are EF weapons used by EF teams on EF maps.

They simply added them so that AT and sniper did not feel left out because they missed out on getting SF unlocks.

                I understand your point though.

They are 'SF' unlocks but they are EF weapons.

Same reason you can't select to use AK's as USMC, because they are the base european forces weapons, they aren't unlocks at all.

Re: EA says' NO to New EF Kits on Vanilla Maps

EA is not stupid, they said why they don't combine or add everything to BF2 Vanilla. There is a limit to what you can get in memory (RAM). They have to design the game to be playable on an average computer. It is not everybody that has a 3.2GHz with 2G of RAM and more).

There is already a lot of people that complain about the slow performance and high memory usage of BF2.

I think they got to the limit with the SF unlocks in BF2 vanilla. That is the reasion they gave and it makes a lot of sense. All those feature take a lot of memory and at one point you have to stop adding, that's where we are.

Next games generation will be designed for newest computer (3.2Ghz and higher with 2G RAM +). then you will be able to have 48 different weapons in one round.

Until then, enjoy what we have :|:

                        .
The Euro Force weapons not being playable on vanilla bf2 really isn't that bad.
                        1. If they added them as yunlocks higher-ranking people wouldn't get them
and 2. It's stupid to say this, they are meant as weapons for the European Union, just like the M16 is only usable through the USMC and SEALS, etc.

Listen to this man. He has the correct explanation.

Asking for EU weapons as unlocks would be like asking for the M24 to be an unlock so you can use it as MEC / PLA. The only reason the P90 and the L96A1 are available as unlocks is because they were "left out" from SF. Remember these unlocks were out way before EF was.

I guess EA/Dice were too lazy to think up original weapons for the base EU AT/Sniper.

I really wish I can use AK47 when I am on US or MEC.

Honestly, I don't think that many people care about staying true to the factions as long as "Western" weapons are used by USMC/EU and "Eastern" weapons are used by PLA/MEC.

It wouldn't bother me one but to see a USMC using a FAMAS, or an EU guy using an M4. It's just not that important to the game, and most of us would be happier if we could use our favorite weapons more often.
