Try setting your AGP to x4 and not x8. Its not a supported video card but by doing that you can sometimes get them to work.

Download the Omega Drivers. This fixed my problems with many games as I am running with the Raedon 9200 mobility. BF2 works great.

It isn't a PCI card is it? I don't know of anyone who's gotten a PCI Radeon 9200 or 9250 to work with BF2. AGP definitely should work though (slowly).

Speaking of 9200 problems, I got a prob with my ati radeon 9250. I've heard it doesnt work unless you do something. So what you do to get it to work?

Hey you guys should use search.. try this. http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showt...adeon+9200+fix
I used this when i had a 9200 and it worked like a charm!. But i also thought 1.21 was supposed to fix that issue??? Damn dice devs.

you dont have to use the demo like it says just copy the shaders from the V1.0 and put them in the new one when you patch. You have to let it optimize shaders before the new folder appears. then paste the old shaders in there. Hope it works! GL

                Re: Radeon 9200 Pro Problem

Mine isn't a PCI as it is a Mobility card built in to my laptop. All I do know is that I was ready to pull my hair out trying to get various games to work. Spent plenty of time on the phone with both Hewlett Packard (I have a Pavilion ZV5000) and ATI with no luck despite all their suggested tweaks and downloads. Black and White, BW2, Sims2, Battlefield 2 and more, all work without crashing and various video glitches since downloading and installing the Omega drivers for ATI Radeon series cards.

I did have the trouble with the previous patch making everything choppy in Special Forces where it had worked just fine before. I had to uninstall the game and take it back to the older version to play until the new patch was released. But the 1.21 patch fixed the choppiness problems. My card is definately not a supported vid card according to game specs, but I am playing the games now without any problems.

Except for the occassional occurance of the "red bug" problem and getting team killed on accident.

It's worth a shot. You can always uninstall the Omega drivers and go back to factory specs. BF2 is a blast! My husband is relieved because now I am not looking at buying a new laptop anymore.

                Good luck!

First, I'll repeat my earlier question: is it a PCI card or AGP?

Which patches have you tried? Unpatched and/or latest (1.21) patch? Besides that all you can probably do is try different drivers and, if possible, try a different (better) video card just to see if you can get it working so you can verify that the vid is indeed the problem.

firstly my card is an AGP card

I have tried unpatched only..and hopefully i will try 1.21 within the next day or so

i tried on my laptop and it also has an ATI driver (different model..cant remember which one but a model from the compatiable list) and it seemed to work fine
