Experienced in Adobe After Effects

I am currently in search of a user who is experienced with Adobe After Effects with inserted special effects into already cut and rendered video, namely smoke. A current project (screenshots shown above) is already in the works wherein a video is being created to enter a "BF2 Video Contest". The "Intro" has been completed and more shoots are being planned. Currently research is being done on some certain aspects before proceeding w/ the rest of the project. This project has the backing of a clan in addition to a devoted "passworded" server.

If you are experienced in working with Adobe After Effects or another "Special Effects" software package, please contact me at TomFernandezProduction at gmail dot com. Please inform me of any work you've already performed and if possible submit a file for download for me to view or an "online portfolio" of your work. Whomever is selected will have their name in full placed in the credits.

Unfortunately I am unable to list any more information about the video here as if this project goes "public", the video will be disqualified from the contest. Whomever is chosen will be completely involved w/ the project. I'm also including my portfolio to give you an idea of what kind of work I've done in the past, including three (3) BF2 video's. If you're talking about the Bftracker video contest then forget it, it's just one big publicity stunt. You won't gain anything from being on the winner’s board and they still haven't learnt from the last contest.

I like your tactic though, impress the kids with fancy effects and pretty things, (because that's who the judges were) but it won't change the fact that it's an OPEN event... which means your be between by some ownage video with metallica music spilt over it.

I certainly won't trust them again, BFtracker is no place for a professional. I will be making my video public before May 1 and it WILL NOT be on a kids gaming site.

XaliaS, ok, you got 2nd because people liked Pilot +1 better but the past has past, just because you don't like "ownage videos with metallica music spilled over it" movies doesn't mean other people shouldn't either, no use crying over spilled cookies is it?

Having recently read the rules for their new competition, I do, too. Minimum running time of 10 minutes? Maximum of 15? No specific categories? Three winners, no prizes, etc. I think it's terribly ill-conceived.

(Having said that, I also feel guilty about contributing to the hijacking of this well-intentioned thread! Sorry, MormonComputerZ!)

Do yall think I should just bow out of the contest and just continue the film on my own and post it whenever? You guys have some valid points and this information that you shared I was not aware of.

Please impart more if you have more. And don't worry about the Thread Hijack, ain't no thing as you guys are giving honest opinions on what I should do which is much appreciated!

Anyways, I do find it sad that a beautiful emotional video with an actual story behind it can be beaten by a few fancy angles and a catchy tune

It has nothing to do with the results or videos, I didn't mean to put that into context. I just don't want MormonComputerZ to feel cheated like I did, speaking from personal experience.

The small changes in competition rules just strengthens my reasons.

The competition is still an open event, the competition does not have a valid prize, and there is still a limit on video making length.
To me, it just certifies that these judges won't have the time to make a proper analysis of every aspect of your video (which may mean they will not be evaluating audio editing, story/plot or actual acting, if any)
They rightly say that they have to limit duration for the amount of videos they receive... then by all means, why are they judging it if they won't take the time.

Right now, their forum is filled with questions from people who know nothing about movie making:
"What do I use to edit/capture?"
"I'll make a video of me shooting people in a round in karkand I just had..." etc.
(not actual quotes but you get the idea)

I said it before and I'll say it again... BFtracker and their competitions, is no place for a professional.
