    no performance increase for nvidia?

see this link http://theinquirer.net/?article=30387. It says that the 84.21 increased FEAR performance by 40%. But how come bf2 users see no gain. FEAR is much more graphically demanding than bf2. Really wish there was a magic driver that increased bf2 framerate.

Yeah i know that bf2 has bigger maps and more players in a game than FEAR but still no excuse.

Just because they fix one small glitch that gives 1 game an FPS increase does NOT mean they can increase performance for ALL games

FEAR is a new game that is heavly dependent on DX9 shaders and state of the art "next gen" type graphics.

BF2 on the other hand is a beautiful game, but relies on a mix of DX8.1 and DX9 shaders and is not as high tech compared to FEAR. BF2 is IMO a good balance between graphics and game play, allows for beautiful 64 man action while still being playable etc....

Only reason Nvidia can crank out more performance is because the game is new and depends on features few other games have. The reason BF2 doesnt get an improvement is because BF2 doesnt depends on the same shaders as much etc.

also because of ram. the graphics card helps control the look of the graphics, but not the framrate to say. yes it plays a role but you still need a good amount of ram. whereas in fear you dont need too much.

EDIT: I play all my games with vsync cuz it looks better. I just tried the FEAR built in benchmark test, and my scores were the same as before the 84.21 drivers. Ill try it without vsync.

why use vsync? It lowers your maximum fps. Besides, in combat you are not going to pay attention to the tearing.

who cares what my max fps is. the only thing fps does it helps you see more faster. if i stay at 60fps constant thats perfect for me. I really dont like tearing and I am very good at spotting it somehow. the ony game i really want super high fps in is Counter Strike.

For some odd reason i can max out FEAR and get a higher framerate than on medium with bf2. This confuses me so bad that i want to cry in joy when i play fear and then i turn around and want to kill myself when i play bf2.
