    Stuttering Solution Found!

I went from 1gig of ram to 2 gig. No more stuttering.

When I was looking at the memory usage, the original BF2 took just under 1 gig of ram while special forces went over. Pretty easy to do the math.

Also, I haven't had any connection loss problems since I added some ram.

iu have 1.5GB ram & idont have stuttering probs, but i never had when i had 1GIG aslong as u dont turn settings on which u know ur system cannot handle everything will be fine.

Plus having a good tweaked system is a good thing too :)

average 67fps, but when loads of action i drop to 40ish, which is still very good.

                    RAM doesn't always fix stuttering.
Specs are in my sig. Yeah, I have major stuttering issues
since the 1.21 patch, but not before.

                      Amen!

I was going to bring up the point that a lot of people suffering from the stuttering already have 2gb of ram.

Of course Ram is going to help the game speed along a bit quicker, but only if the game is working correctly, if there is a flaw within some of the code, then ram isn't going to help, only a fix from the manufacturer is going to fix it.

Personally I think that when they made the patch and they "fixed" the syncing issues, it has caused a knock on effect, but what I cannot figure out is why it is only on some machines that the problem is happening.

I have tried changing my network config from NIC to USB, but that did diddly, I have updated PB to lastest version, still no joy, I have defragged, optimized, turned unused services off, cleared BF cache, installed older drivers(even tho 1.2 ran with the drivers that were on before). I have tried turning down my hardware acceleration for my sound card, I have uninstalled/ re-installed many times, I have patched with version 1.2 and it worked fine, but after using the incremental patch for 1.21, the problem returned.

So in all fairness it has to be a problem that the patch has caused, as battlefield ran like a dream pre patch 1.21. But as yet EA/Dice have yet to hold their hands up and acknowledge the fact that the patch that was supposed to fix things has actullay mmade it worse for some us, hopefully they willl see these threads and the threads at EA.com and they will respond with a community update.

                      Fingers crossed!:)

                        Re: Stuttering Solution Found!

I’ve been playing online games for almost ten years, I’ve never seen such poor quality from a game.

It’s getting to the point where I’m thinking about giving up and if only, get my money back from EA.

I’ve waited for months for my game to run how it once had done and I’m sick of the excuses given over the phone.

I am told I’m a isolated issue or that all because (SOME) people are reporting this problem that’s not to say many are getting this….

I’ve read masses of threads from people unhappy and confused as to why they are stuttering and chugging, be it as soon as they enter a server or perhaps ten minutes into play.

I’ve waited for three different patches to remedy this issue and nothing has materialized from what we all are told was meant to be a fix.

I really hope that a game comes out soon on the lines of BF2 so I can join that and never look back.

I also have issues with stuttering. Turning everything down to low except the resolution doesnt fix it for me either. But im using dxtweaker so i should probably try withouth that and se if it changes (but that would suck anwyway since i would get low fps since i want vsync on).
