I was reading about the differences between BF2 and 1942, and one was that some materials could be shot through. What things in the game can you shoot through? Is it like fences and stuff?

The metal fences such as if you spawn at the right artillery on Karkand, the metal fence just down that hill. You can penetrate it with a PKM or a tank. Not sure if you can penetrate it with all weapons but those are the two I know for sure. -

ive gotten an occasional kill by shooting thru the little sheet metal huts that have the mounted guns in them
basically if you can see thru it you can shoot thru it with any rifle round
but bigger rounds from and apc, tank, or AT will not go thru such materials
go figure, a 120mm tank round is deflected by a chain link fence

you can penetrate with all weapons, you can penetrate the wood boards on Sharqi Peninsula at Construction siteComment

yeah, I notice I keeep gettin owned through wood fences like in karkand. other than that I dont know about any wall-type materials.Comment

What seems to be annoying is that an APC cannot shoot through a chain link fence. Why? That is a very good question.Comment

Tanks and APCs can shoot through 2 feet thick concrete walls without any problems. But that's just another glitch in the game. Hate them.Comment
