Cant restart BF2

Ok guys this one is cheesy. B4 i had SF i could play normally BF2 normally, now that i have all the patches, i can still play but theres an issue: whenever i quit the game (due to be tired, work or anything) and then i want to play again, the game crashes after the BF2 deskopt screen, sometimes an error message appears some others doesnt, so i actually have to restart my comp to play again. I contacted EA support but the prob continues, any help will be cool.

Welcome :hi:

When you quit BF2, try hitting control-alt-delete to bring up Task Manager.

Look for instances of:
BF2.exe
~e5.0001

If you see either of those 2 running under Processes after you've quit BF2, then end those processes and you won't have to reboot.

If ~e5.0001 is the file in question, then try mounting a virtual drive image instead of putting the physical CD in the drive...the copy protection may be what is causing your problem.

Y think it was ~e5.0001, yet i didnt really found it. I'm pretty sure wasn't BF2.exe because thats the main app and wasn't in the task managger.
I had some 'ol BF2 mini img in my comp (i didn't used it since i bought SF), runned it in DAEMON and voila! worked as many times as i wanted it to.

Sweet...glad I could help. ~e5.0001 is the safedisc process for BF2.

It's a shame that copy protection has to exist because it can cause legit users such annoying problems.

I use mini-images for every game I can. I have YET to buy a game where I am forced to keep the CD in the drive...I can always find a way
