find your BF2 shortcut and right click on it, go Properties -> Change icon -> Browse, then find the icon file :)

Like I said in another post, this is what makes the BF2 community second to none. When others do something cool like this to benefit all those who appreciate their effort. I just updated my desktop and quick launch icons with Durinthiam's new shiney blue EF one, and it looks sweet! :)
