Heli Guided Missiles

I was playing the other day, having a go in one of the attack helicopters and this guy kept shooting me down from his helicopter using the guided missile (the one fired in the grey screen by the gunner). Anyway, I just thought he was a really good shot as every time I have used that weapon it goes dead straight. However, a few minutes later I got moved to the other team and I watched this guy fire the missile at a helicopter, but the missile didn't go straight, it went up at the end and hit this helicopter, I saw him do it several times.

So, can this missile be guided, like the mounted anti-tank missiles? If so, how?

Or was this bloke a cheating scumbag?

yea you guide by clicking and aiming at certain spots almost always guarentees a kill but im not gonna tell you were to aim. its a dont ask wont tell question. took me awhile to figure it out so yea. practice makes perfect.

God... you're so lame.

The stunt to making hits with the TVGMs is to lead your target but try for impacts slighty behind your target. Because of the way hitbox's lag quite often what seems like a direct hit on the front of a chopper will result in the missile passing clean through it.

Also, remember that your view is just a little ahead of the missile. That can make a differance in a near hit situation.

Hold up, I have no problem in taking out tanks etc.. and I know that if I want to hit a moving target then I got to aim in front of it. But this guy was making the missile move AFTER he fired it. Hold up, I have no problem in taking out tanks etc.. and I know that if I want to hit a moving target then I got to aim in front of it. But this guy was making the missile move AFTER he fired it. With the mounted anti-tank guns you use the mouse to direct it after you fire it, but this didn't work in the helicopter.

To ajust the aim of the TVGMs you need to click where you want it to go. You're best bet is to put your cursor ahead of the target a little and start clicking like a madman.

ah ha, ok I get it. Not tried that one. I don't normally go for helicopters with that weapon, for obvious reasons, that's now going to change. Thanks.

I hate what people post asking "How to's" about things before they RTFM.

The manual is perty bad. It doesn't really tell you much about anything.

Searching these forums is a better way to go, but the search funtions are kinda lacking... so, whatever. Giving a little info to someone like this may help their gaming experience and that's only a good thing.

The manual consists of about 2 pages, not enough to explain how to boil a kettle let alone how to do all the little parts of a game, whats the point in a forum if not to ask questions?

I searched the forums but could find jack, so kiss my a*s.
