    Attack Chopper Questions

I have a few questions which have detered me from being an avid copter pilot. And i was hoping to get some tutoring that will help me become a better pilot.

First off i read the secrets of BF2 writeup on choppers and the focused on what to stay away from which dosent help me get kills, just stay alive longer.

    First question:

    Second question:
When i try to line up my crosshairs to shoot my only weapon which is rockets i find i have to blast off all my rockets quickly before i start plummiting to the earth.

Can someone explain to me how you take out a tank and not automatically start swooping to the earth, or is that just how it is?

And feel free to post any tips or tricks for Attack Choppers.

PS. Another random question: When i am in a good server and want to get a IRL friend in the server, how do i find the servers IP without leaving the server?

On a similar point though, something i've wondered about but never thought to ask, when you are in a chopper (i think it's when you just take off though i'm not sure (i don't spend much time in them)) you get a green box which starts in the center and just goes offscreen. It's almost as if it's a lock on box that doesn't come into play because, as the pilot, you don't have locking (or guided) missiles.

To see the IP address just hold Tab or hit CapLocks once and it is on the upper left... not sure which one it is though...

im a real good choppa pilot and can probably answer ur questions. the grenn box is there when u are in a perfect hover, and just shows how you are drifting. it isnt really important at all so dont even think about it

                  SHEESH....

Anyone who has piloted/gunned in the Cobra knows that gray box is a doctored shot to indicate what your gunner can see when in TV mode while you're piloting...

                  U guys are very paranoid....

                    Re: Attack Chopper Questions

Having learned skills to stay alive longer as you put it, the part of getting kills is all up to you. There really is no trick to it other than practicing. If you want a easy way to get kills in a chopper, there really are none. It sounds like you need to practice more, try playing in single player. If a bot takes the chopper, join the squad become leader and ask for a pick up. If the chopper does not come back, shoot it down. It's not like you are going to get punished for it in single player.
Overall, I think you are just looking for an easy way. Like flipping a switch that does not exist. Put your time in like everyone else.

it is kind of hard to get the hang of doing rocket runs on tanks and other vehicles at first, but you'l get the hang of it soon. dont go up very high, or else ul go into a dive when you engage the tank. instead stay kinda close to the ground, but not too close(youl be able to judge the proper height as you get better). then start flying towords the tank. just before your crosshairs get over it, start to fire off your rockets, rapid fire. if you began at the right time, the rockets should all hit the tank. i think it is 4 rockets to kill a tank. the hard part is judging when to pull out of the small dive. but with some practice, you should be killing tanks easliy. i hope i have been some help.

The whole gray box from that screen shot? Hmmph, I always thought that the little green box inside the medium size green rectangle was where you needed to line up the chopper for your gunner to take a TV shot?

It is an indicator that tells you when you are straight and level. Pretty uselss in BF2 considering you can land on your side. Get back in and take off again.

Straight and level is not a BF2 concept LOL.

My biggest problem while learning this was flying too high (like Ranger said). Once it finally dawned on me to lower the throttle and come in nice and low, it all came together.

anybody else played in the EF choppa yet? it is pretty good, only ,the gunner has much less space to shoot the gun. it cant really see under the choppa like the other ones. but it does have the MEC HAVIC's gun, which rules. also, the EFchoppa is very fast, but doent have much rudder control
