I've often wondered why EA didn't create a 2 second GOD like pause when you spawn on the map. I've noticed that when someone spawns, it takes about a second before the player can actually move, in which he's completely vulnerable to any attack without being able to retaliate. If there was a 2 second delay where the spawner couldn't be killed, it would give the player a chance to actually get his bearings and continue on.
Of course this also could cause problems as any enemy nearby would be helpless until that 2 seconds is up. More than anything, it would be interesting to see a way to give those spawning a chance to actually see where they are, then make their move before getting nailed by artillery or the inevitable spawn on your SL right in the line of fire/fall off a ledge etc.
Are there any other FPS games out there that utilize something like this?
