Blue Screen Of Death when installing the game?

I've had BF2 for months, but for some reason my VOIP stopped working, so i decided to uninstall and reinstall BF2, Special FOrces, and Euro Force. I get about halfway through the first install disc, and I get a BSOD saying something about dumping the physical memory?

Any ideas what the problem is?

i had this problem a few months ago
for me it was something to do with a dll windows used
i ended up having to reformat

ouch, I don't really want to do that. I'm getting a new hard drive within a week, and will be reformatting then, but I don't really want to do that now. Does anyone know what the dll was, or how to fix it without the reformat?
