Voip

So there i was in a game, playing on sharpi pencil, killing, killing, killing. Occasionally dying :P. Every now and again i would tell the rest of my squad things like 'watch out for the clagmore at the north flag' 'tank coming up the road' 'thanks for the revive mate'. At the end of the round i ask them if they could hear me ok, as they didnt reply all round. No answer, so i typed it. To my supprise, none of them had voip (no microphone) - all 5 of em couldnt talk to me or others in the squad outside of typing and using ingame commands.

That just shocked me that they didnt have a mic connected to talk, nor did they intend on getting one. Anyone here not have a mic or not planning to get a mic connected? What are your reasons for not even wanting one?

I have a mic. Actually I have a leet headset with a mic attached.

^^ Same, gotz a sweetz headset but i find it more often that unless you are playing with ur regulars/teamates nobody uses it, except i did come across a guy that i joined squads with on wake and we were unstoppable in the air via communicating, but other than that, 90% of the time none uses it, which is a shame !!

Personally I used to use it but due to lack of response and the variable quality of the voip I stopped. Recently though I've noticed more people using it, especially when commanding so I'll be buying another shortly. Had a brilliant laugh the other day listening to a sql who every time anything happened went nuts on the voip, every time he died it was a no no noooooo you *** %%%&%^%' even shouting at the end that piece of footie commentry ' Mr America your boys took one heeeeell of a beating' and roaring with laughter until round end, magic. Normally this would be a pain but he was a really funny guy and when it mattered was talking sense overall a pretty good sql, so it was a bit ermmm different and a bonus to listen to this character.

I have a headset and I'm glad I did. It's so much easier just saying commands or like you said, warnings and compliments than having to type them out.

I dont like having mine on automatic - nobody would want to listen to the obscenities that come outta my mouth when i get hit. Beleive me, the monitor is almost broke. One day one of us is gunna end up on the way out - either into the bin or into hospital.

I don't think you can have it on automatic. I always just press the "B" button to talk to my squad.

I don't know what I would do WITHOUT my headset. I love it.

I use mine all the time. Its an Icemat Siberia. Unfortunately, the mic just doesnt work that well. It is a clip on lapel style that needs to be really close to your mouth to work. SO, i grabbed this like 3 dolllar headset that I just use the mic portion of, and use the icemats for the audio. Looks kinda crazy, but the headphones are the most comfortable I have ever used.

I have the headset and mic, but I do not use the VOIP component. I would use it, but I also have kids, wife etc. So I need to hear them too lol. Aside from that I cannot get VOIP to work. The set works fine in other games and on teamspeak, but no luck using game VOIP.
