Soldier on the cover with wrong markings

Did anyone else notice the soldier on the cover of Special Forces is actually a Green Beret? He has the Army Special Forces patch and tab. Also, if he really is a Special Forces Operator he should have his Airborne tab.

As if anything else ea/dice has done has mimicked real life :)
Maybe he wanted to save at the local sew shop. :) :)

It doesnt mean the person would not be Airborne Qualified.... or for that matter: path finder, rigger, combat diver... etc.

Airborne training is manditory for Special Forces so I'm sure he would proudly display his tab. Just more indepth research on dice/ea's part, haha. He could always be a Navy S.E.A.L. that has beret envy so he bought his tab and patch online without doing his homework.

Not everyone wears all their tabs/badges etc. But again I divert to a possible real scenario.

You are right in that it is mandatory... (Airborne School)
But looking closer at the box... that Tab he is wearing doesnt look as though it spells out Special Forces (not enough letters). Coul dbe my eyes though. But it's a game... It could say "If you can read this you are too close to the box"

Good luck with the enlistment. Perhaps we will cross paths

                  Actually,
Yes you can. As of a few years ago.

yes, but about the only thing you can get into that special forces from enlistment is airborne or rangers, if you want to consider them special forces...

I guess that's why from OSUT I go directly into SF Prep and then SFAS.

guess there could have been a change quite recently then, cause when my brother enlisted a couple years ago the only way you could get into special forces was to be drawn from rangers or another "advanced" infantry unit

Actually the patch does say "Special Forces". The "S" and the "ES" are very hard to see, though.

And to the OP, he could be a Green Beret (or Delta for that matter). I'm sure when the Box Art designer was looking for a picture, he searched "Guy on Zip Line with Cool Mask and Gun" whilst ignoring the fact that there are no Army units in either Vanilla or SF. Also, the guy is rigged onto the line (whereas ingame they use those handles) and his M4 carbine has a light. Just some food for thought.

Just because the guy on the box is not a guy in one of the armies doesn't really mean anything. The name of the game is Special Forces, not Special Forces (including the MEC Special Forces, Navy Seals, Russian Spetsnaz, Rebels, and tghe Insurgent Forces!). The guy on the box is a special forces guy and the game is called Special Forces. He fits

BTW, on his patch the first letter is "P". Can't read the rest though.

EDIT: Okay was wrong, it does say Special Forces on his patch. Also the patch below it is the Army's special forces patch.

Actually, on the back of the Special Forces box it says "JOIN THE WORLD'S MOST ELITE and deadly forces: SEAL, SAS, Russian Spetznas, MEC Special Forces, Rebel, or Insurgent, each with its own arsenal and tactics."

I think it's safe to say that Dice doesn't give a hoot-and-a-nickel for content accuracy.
