graphics cards!

Ok i would like to buy a better graphics card because my ATI radeon 9600 all-in-wonder is ok but not the best...

I dont know what to get so i will take suggestions but i perfer ATI cards and i have a AGP input and it has to be below $300..

an ati radeon x800xl is pretty good. There around your price range and if you cant find one thats under 300$ try new egg.

7800GS is the "best" AGP card, but its a poor cost/performance value, and insanely expensive for what you get.

Try to pick up a 6800GS or a x850 card.

I purchased an ATI X850 XT 256MB AGP8X card from a guy on ebay. It works great at all settings on high and antiailiasing at 4x.

I have:
AMD XP 2800+
2GB DDR PC3200
(2) 160GB SATA WD HDDS in RAID 0
Video card listed above, and a bunch of other stuff....

hope this helps. How much system ram you have will make a difference too...

dont spend up to $500 waste of money for a agp card

buy a 6800gs and save the rest for a whole new pc any agp card last long enough to warrant $500 price tag

and im guessing that your proccessor is only mid-range if it is it wont handle a x850xt very well and will hold the card back

The x850XT Pe is one of the best AGP cards ever made. At this point i would jump on that or find a 6800GS/7800GS/x850 used. No point buying a new AGP card for full price in my opinion.

Check out some FS/T forums and i bet you can pick up a card for a nice price.

i have a plain old x800 agp costed about 179 canadian and plays awesome at med high settings i used to have a 9600 and it made a very nice diff for not to much cash
