Gama issues

Ok, so im sure this has been asked and its probably something easy to fix...but I cant figure it out. When playing bf2 I can see just fine but the second I load up SF it gets really dark...and Im not talking about it being a night map... Im talking about day maps.. The only way I have found to fix this is to go into my gama settings under the control pannel but im sure there is another way....so my question is...is there another way to fix this??

Have you checked whether SF reset all your video settings to high. That's what it did to me. Check all your video settings. Especially the lighting section, as that is what would cause deep shadowing and make some areas very dark.
