Tank Whoring?

One of the most admired skill in BF42 and DC is now considered to be "whoring"....

Well of course, tank whoring do occur on maps like Karkand, where there is basically no infantry cover (US base to hotel) and no other opposition.

However, if you think tank battle on operation smoke screen is "whoring", you are wrong. In fact, I get more points by playing as a support in great wall than using tanks.

I consider tank whoring, like on karkand when a guy sits next to a suply crate and just blasts people all round long. Not driving around in a tank plentiful map.

I have nothing against the occasional tank as it adds a massive amount of tension to a situation, but I just found the gameplay to be boring compared to what it could have been. Complete waste of some excellent new weapons.

I don't use uber leet words like whoring. I just think the use of tanks in the maps I played was plain tedious and repetitive. Regardless of how cool it makes you look in BF1942. This is BF2. Different game.

Tank whoring in SmokeScreen doesn't apply IMHO.

There are loads of them, enough airpower to keep them down and the shear openness of the map makes it great for tank squad action.
Today my squad ahd 3 and the fun of flanking their armor while we left 1 to hold them off was great.

Tank whoring is when you sit at the tank spawn on karkand waiting for it to respawn, go fight for a bit with the tank, die, then repeat x 1000.

Vehicles are all but mandatory for almost all of the EF map content so I wouldn't call it whoring.

There is no such thing as whoring, be it in EF or standard BF2. Whoring is something that only exists in the minds of people who are too stupid to change what they are doing in order to stop being killed. In their minds, it can't possibly be their own fault that they chose to spawn as a sniper at a flag being attacked by a tank 6 times in a row. So instead of accepting responsibility for their own blatant stupidity, they start throwing around the whoring accusations.

Yeah, nothing wrong with everyone in a tank, at least its fair. But is way more boring than infantry maps.

But yeah the real whores are the ones who sit in the tank the whole time and just spawn camp everyone.

Pretty much armor should only ever be used against other armor/vehicles.

If you are in a tank on a city map its just stupid and obvious you suck and have to use a vehicle to hide in.

It just ruins the experience for others when you have to give up being support or medic or assault to get some anti tank items to spend the whole map trying to get rid of these ****ers.

You have a comprehension problem. If a tank whore spawns and grabs the tank 10x in a row and I kill him 10x in a row, he is still a tank whore. It has nothing to do with who kills whom. AT is my #1 kit and I love killing tank whores. The more they keep coming back with their tank the funnier it is. You think I go "oh noes I keep getting points when I kill this guy in the tank over and over again, what shall I do?" ? Use your head.

Your right, it doesn't matter who kills who. But they still aren't tank whores. Hell, by the logic of 95% of the people who use the whore term, what you just stated makes you an AT whore. See why it's such an incredibly stupid term?

I don't stand around in a hanger waiting for an AT kit to become available. I don't deprive other players on the map from playing AT if I take the AT kit. I can and do play any other kit out there if my team needs it so no, it's not the same thing.

Whoring is a term made up by a bunch of skilless tards bitching cause they cant take so and so out. If your good at one vehicle or the other, then do it, and learn to be the best so the resistence is futile. If your good at flying a jet lets say, then fly the damn jet because that is what is gonna best support your team's score.

If you're good with the noob toob then use it, if you're good with claymore spamming then do it, if you're good with the jets the whore it up baby. You can play this game however you like just don't cry when someone calls you a jet /armor whore when you whore the jet/armor.

exactly. What's wrong with killing or wounding the enenmy so it's easier for your team to do their job? Nothing.

But people love to whine about things.

I especially like it when I'm in a tank, some noob is on the other team in one. I kill him in 2 shots. He whines and says that's not possible. Maybe not, but you sit facing me, not moving, letting me 2 good shots at your treads, while I moved and was broadside, taking less damage.

Wrong. I believe there is 'whoring'. I've played this since 42 and last night I really got mad for probably the 1st time.
Ex: on Great wall last night, 2 Engy's, 2 tanks, they trolled around the whole map auto-repairing eachother and dominating. Even as Specops I wasn't able to get close enough to knock even one out. And TOW's? Yeah, you might get one off before they blast you. I was furious.

I guess two engy's + two tanks could occur on any map, so I don't know why I was surprised to see that happen; but the fact that I always saw those two damn red tank icons linked together the whole freaking round really ****ed me off. To me, they were: Whoring with a capital 'W'.

Part of the game mechanics. They dominated because they used their brains and a little simple teamwork.
Why not just get two engineers, two tanks and go do the same back to them? If they were that good, carry a couple of AT guys who can hop out and ambush them whilst you're going toe to toe in the tanks? Game on, problem solved.
