Hello BF2 gamers

Like many others, I'm also getting this 7049:0 error (exactly the same as described by Alphanut an Merlin [bin ebenfalls Schweizer]).
Of course I've contacted the EA Support via E-mail but they weren't able to help me either. Fact is, the solution offered by the EA support page does not solve this nuisance.
Anyway... I've tried all I could. Now I' hoping for a solution from EA.

ok i got this gay **** to work, i had to direct connect my internet to my computer i guess it couldn't connect through thr routers firewalls or something along those lines so if you're having problem maybe try that.

That is not really correct.
It might also be our ISP blocking.

I am a network administrator, and I am absolutely 100% sure that our firewalls, and routers are forwarding the requests.
I have been able to successfully connect anything to our network until now. All applications would connect flawlessly. Now the EA downloader is not working even in bridged mode (bridged mode means that my NIC acts as PPPoE, and my PC is wide open to everything)

$kelet0r, can you please post your source stating that it is a user related network problem that cannot be solved by EA?

But, that all doesn't concern me at all, because the German EA support was really supportive :)

OK, this is what you do, assuming you have already PAID your EF copy but are not able to DL it due to fancy 7049:0 error. It works for me and it will for you guys too, in case you have a friend with a working EF-Copy. If not, have EA send you a CD with the files on it for you.

If you have someone with EF working, then ask him to burn the content of C:/program files/electronic art/ea downloader/cache/hisloginname

Have him/her burn everything within the folder bearing his log-in name of BF2. then copy that into the same place on your own computer.

Start EA Downloader. It'll say "install". Do so. Have fun. Don't change the name of the folder "hisloginname" into "yourloginname" - won't work - not needed anyway.

This works only if you have PAID for EF. Which you did.

Yes I had a chat with a EA support guy a couple days ago, and they are sending me a CD :)
Hope it won't take them too long. The EF screenies look great imo, and I really want to play those maps.

Hey AlphaNut - gärn gscheeh :) Mir spilet mängisch uf EA =420th= .... Server. Aber leider chan ich nöd zvil spile, wil mini Frou susch e bizzeli ätzend tuet :laugh: Aber so under de Wuche am Ziischtig oder am Dunschtig so zwüsched 19:30 und 21:30 simmer öppe ume, de eagle58 und iich.

D'maps sind minere meinig naa OK bis guet - wobii The Great Wall isch us miinere Sicht für Euro Force Thema e bizeli a de haare herbiizoge.

Di andere beidä Maps chönted gradso guet us Armored Fury stammä - will Du chunsch vor allem bi de eintä Map je nach grössi sovil Tanks über vie noniä! Alles in allem aber isch es scho es tolli sach wider emal uf andere Maps zspile. Falls über Skipe erreichbar bisch, säg mer Diin Skype - Name und dänn gseemer ja öpp Du jewiils au online bisch. Wer weiss, vilicht machsch ja mal mit im "Altersheim" :-))

Wieder es paar Tag här sit mim letschtä Forum - Jump. Bin leider au zimli "ängaschiert" :laugh: ... Also bi mir lauft EF mittlerwile und die beide Nahoscht-Chaartä gfalled mir eigentlich rächt guet - das mer als EF jetzt grad uf de chinesische Muur umegumpe tuet isch vilecht e bizeli wiit häärgholt.

Hoffentlich lauft's bi Dier jetzt au guet!

P.S.: Vilecht simmer am morn am Samschtig nami ab de zweiä druff - findsch eus ja eifach über bf2s.com falls mer ume sind.
