    Is this Normal??

    Hey guys,

I have an AMD Athlon 64 +3000, 6600 GT with 128mb and one gig of ram, most of the time I get only around 30 fps set on

    1024x768
    Terrain: Medium
    Effects: Medium
    Geometry: Medium
    Texture: Medium
    Lighting: Medium
    Dynamic Shadows: off
    Dynamic Lights: off
    Anti-Aliasing: 2X
    Texture Filtering: Medium

is it normal for my system to run this slow?

oh yeah and I have XP x64 installed, would it affect the game if you are using xp x64?

    Thanks a lot

That does seem a bit low.

You may need to perform some general system maintanance and optimizations.

Disable any and all unnecessary background applications, processes, and services for a start.

      Do a full virus/spyware scan.

      Defragment.

Upgrade your video, sound, and motherboard drivers.

        change it to this:
1024x768 (put this refresh rate to the same rate you have your screen at)
        Terrain: Medium
        Effects: Medium-lower this maybe
        Geometry: Medium
        Texture: Medium
        Lighting: low
        Dynamic Shadows: off
        Dynamic Lights: off
        Anti-Aliasing: off
Texture Filtering: off or lowest possible

Turn off explorer when you play, and any other prgrams that you dont need.

        This should help a lot

also do the pb_sleep500 and pb_writecfg into the console (search for the post on this forum about that, if you dont know aht i mean), or if you trust me, just type those two things into the game by pressing `.

Why does everything revolve around EA creating a game that wont like or run on more or less and major Components, :S

            Re: Is this Normal??

Is that 30 average, or a high of 30 fps? If it is a high of, then there is definitely something wrong. I have the following,

            NF7 w/ XP-M2500+ @ 2.2 ghz
            1.5 gb PC3200
            6600GT

I just went on to a Dalian Plant server running FRAPS and got this,

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
            7439, 129983, 34, 101, 57.231

Was a mostly empty server so that I didn't end up with the spwan selection screen while the benchmark was running. Did go to the commander screen twice to drop arty (stood just on the outside of it as it landed). I have also run the FRAPS benchmark while on a full 64 slot server and got similar numbers (the average might be a frame oor two lower). This are the settings I use,

            1280x1024@60
            Terrain: Medium
            Effects: Medium
            Geometry: Medium
            Texture: Medium
            Lighting: Medium
            Dynamic Shadows: Low
            Dynamic Lights: Medium
            Anti-Aliasing: 2X
            Texture Filtering: Medium

First question is which video drivers are you using 9I'm running the 84.20)? Second, are your motherboard drivers up-to-date/installed, and is the card agp or pci-e?

I get an average of 30 fps and a high of about 60, I do have all my x64 drivers updated, but I think when battlefield installed it installed its own x32 nvidia driver, would that be a problem? The 6600 gt is a PCI-E
