    Thumby55's Official Euro Forces Review

Thumby55's Official review of Euro Forces:

Did they screw up and release Armored Fury instead of Euro Forces? Because I swear to christ, there's like 14 tanks on some of these maps. Other than being an armor whore's paradise, there's a lot of airpower on some maps as well. Oh and one more thing that needs to be said...Why did the cumstains at EA/Dice make these maps 16 and 32 player only? All of these maps feel like they were designed with 64 players in mind. With that being said, it's enjoyable, but you start to miss Vanilla and SF a lil' bit

    Maps

    Operation Smokescreen
This is my favorite of all the maps in EF. It reminds me a lot of a cross between Oman and Songhua. Oman because of the middle east feel and songhua because of the sheer size of this map. The burning oil towers really add a tactical element with the thick black smoke. I always pilot the MI-28 and lurk in the smoke waiting for armor whores.

    The Great Wall
This map has amazing ambience in it's environment. The wall adds a strategic advantage, and looks amazing to boot. The bad thing about this map is that it's big and a lot of it is spent on foot. Once you're in the courtyard of the wall itself, it feels like a completely different map and gets a lot "closer" in scope. There's also no airpower at all on this map. I would have also liked to see transport choppers as it would play out a lot like Mashtuur in that respect.

    Taraba Quarry
This map is huge as well and is a lot like Smokescreen minus the smoke and with a river dividing the map down the middle. This map is okay but feels like it needs 64 players to be less sparse in it's battles. Nothing really memorable here to say.

    EU Aerial Arsenal

    Eurofighter Typhoon
This plane looks pretty sweet, a lot like the J-10 but with triangular wings. It flies like crap in my opinion. It feels fast but gives the feeling that it's "unstable" in some way. It's seems slugish when strafing but then again, I'm not a jet whore so I wouldn't really know for sure.

    Tiger Attack Chopper
I'm neutral about this thing to be honest. It's faster than any of the other attack choppers, but takes a while to recover while swooping. If you jerk the throttle left or right while taking off, it WILL roll over and explode on you. This has happened to me twice now because I smoke too much chronic.

    EU Tanks

There are 2 new tanks, one German, the other British. They're pretty much the same as the others with similar speeds and cannons. I don't like them that much because you can't see your tracks when you look down so it's tough to fit through tight spaces.

    Weapons

    Engineer
The new engineer shotgun kicks some serious ass. It's like the USMC shottie but semi auto.
    Medic
Famas is cool as hell, has a mean sound and the sights are amazing.
    Anti-Tank
P90 sucks knob as everyone knows.
    Sniper
L96 Sniper is as accurate as the M24 and reloads a second quicker.
    Assault
Love this gun. It feels and looks like the m16 and fires G3 shots.
    Support
Hmmmmm...If I were to sum up this gun I would say it's a belt-fed G3 with the sound of an M60 from Rambo. Accuracy is like MG36
    Spec Ops
This thing rox my muh-****in sox. I always use the MP5 as AT because I like the challenge but this version feels like a full-auto .45ACP. "you can pound nails with this thing all day"

K that's it for now...Go ****in' play it! The EA downloader actually gave me sustained 3mbit download speeds so eat it up son.

Thanks for the feedback...Playing a round right now on my other pc in a packed Smokescreen only server. I can't get over how many tanks you see flying in the jets.

I agree with what you say pretty much, however you got to remember it's only the 64 player map size missing. There is nothing stopping servers running 64 players on the 32p sized maps and 32 players on the 16 sized maps. All the maps seem they would work like that well, i've played 64 on 32 and it works well. Haven't seen anyone try 32 on 16 yet though.

I like Great Wall- Has a more CQC feel to it... Taraba Quarry is my 2nd favorite map; i love the size of it. It is nice having some room to manuever. I know some people like close quarter maps, where all you have to do to be in a firefight is spawn on the map.. But i prefer a map that has room to move and establish tactics and angles of attack; instead of just playing like two roosters in a pen..

Then comes Operation Smoke Screen; my fav. map. This map has great ambience and is basicly everything i would want in a map. It has size, and it also has areas for CQC; it feels like a battlefield, instead of just a piece of a battlefield.... If this map where a porn movie i would give it 5 out of 5 penises UP!!

I agree with your review Thumby55 !! :) Glad to read a positive review for once rather than a load of moans. When played in 64 player the booster pack is defo worth the money....but you're right about them damn heli's ! Ive rolled over a couple of times myself, lol !!

Overall it's a good add-on pack....The graphics and scenery alone are worth a look !!

Not a bad review. Regarding the Eurofighter, it's a great plane and totally owns the Mig 29. Also, look for 64 player servers. The game's way better with 64 people.

They may have said these maps are only 16 and 32 player maps but the 32 player maps can easily handle 64 players and have numerous spawn points. I don't think this is as much of an issue. Just my .02.
