So do you have ptegan available now as a gamespy ID? I found a GameSpy ID of ptegan but not one for Ponster.

Someone else named Dustan Pelly already has the GameSpy ID of CrossKill.

I was looking at bf2s.com. They don't poll for less than 100 global points so that Ponster account doesn't show up yet. And your ptegan account is actually ptegan1984.

I got it figured out. When you change the account name through EA Downloader you don't have to own the GameSpy account. It doesn't ask for the password. So I am playing while linked to Dustan's GameSpy account but in with my BF2 account and password. Wow. Not much reality involved in this plan.

I see where theres a lot of jerks who cant make up thier own name, so they steal some one elses (I looked at BF2s). Thats sad, very sad. When I started to play BF2 the login thing wouldnt let me use my usual name redrider, all lower case because that puts me at the top of any list, usually, that gets generated. Now I see someone has stolen it and the worst part is thier stats stink. Oh well, not everyone can be creative and actually put some thought into what they do.
So whats the big deal? Well, its kinda like being Batman, redrider has been my alter eago for over 15 years now. It started as a call sign on the radio and made the jump with me to the inter net. After working, all night it kinda puts a nasty twist to a ruff all night shift, I guess its more or less just a personal problem though. Nothing about 8 hours sleep wont cure. . . . . . . . . .Red

The d*mn limit wasnt changed why you are saying it was.
Still tells me that I have gone over my 3 changes for the week. EA need to get there heads out of there a**'s an fix this crap!

Whats with you guys, I have noticed that you and a few other guys who have the same signature line seem to be apologist for EA. The fact is this is a "TEMPORARY" increase in the limit.
This is a restriction that was never announced. The game was designed by them to allow for multiple accounts on the same computer. Having multiple accounts is not stealing or somehow leaching off a friend. This is nothing but an attempt drag more money out of the many people who have shared a single computer to play this game.

No doubt DICE and EA have made a great game but this account restriction stuff is absolute BS.

Thanks for extending the account change limit. The Gamespy fiasco had me throwin' a fit because I exceeded my limit and was looking at waiting a week to fix it. Now that the limit was extended, I simply went into EA Downloader, clicked on "Edit Gamespy Nickname" and changed it to my BF2 player name. Bingo! It's all good now.

Could this whole ordeal have been avoided? Hell yeah! The whole purchase mechanism for Euro Force has been frustrating for many otherwise supportive players and an embarrassment for EA (at least it SHOULD be embarrassed).

My BF2 name is not available for me in GameSpy. Someone else is already using it. Soooo... if I can't change my GameSpy name to my BF2 name do I have to make a new BF2 account to match the GameSpy name and forfeit all the points, ranks, medals and UNLOCKS?

This mechanism is bloody awful. Someone had an idea and didn't check with the real world.

I recommend a rerelease of EF that doesn't tie in with gamespy, rather it should link to the CD serial.

Crosskill i agree 100%, trying to register for EA Downloader JUST DO I CAN GET THE GAME, my BF2 nick is taken.

Why is it so hard just to add the content and maps to BF2? Why do we need seperate programs or stupid locks on which accounts can run this stuff, its BS.

It hasn't been lifted, it has been temporarily increased. This increase will only help those people who have only one account on their machine and accidentally exceeded the three-typo limit. This will do nothing for those who were previously able to use more than one account on their machines and now can't.
