Just now, all the servers seemed to have gotten extremely high ping. Is this just my computer, or did all the servers just get screwed? And why does this happen? (I think this has happened before with the account servers)

If you have a high ping, 99.5% of the time the problem is on your end. Your bandwidth is either used up by something else, you have a bad internet connection, or the server is located far away from you.
Server lag has to do with that heavy 'rubberbanding' that you see.

I can't even log on BF2 -- keeps on refusing my connection. But then again, I think it just might be on my side with m ISP, pretty slow tonight.Comment

Most of the time bad ping is either because of unusually choked bandwidth on your ISP or you are physically far away from the server (if you are in america and you play on an australian server, your ping will be crazy high and you will lag a lot).Comment
