    How can I play offline?

I'm in my easter break at the moment and my gaming rig doesn't have an internet connection. I've purchased EF and copied the folder that was made (it has a setup.exe in it) to my computer from the computer I have access to and DOES have a net connection. (nowhere near good enough to run BF2 or any games though).

It installed okay and, thinking myself now capable of practising the maps and playing against bots, I fire up BF2 on my offline PC. Oops, I'm offline so I can't log in to my normal online account (HicRic). So I make an offline account to play some SP, and lo and behold, I'm told I can't because I need to play with my online account.

So, let me get this straight...to play offline single player against bots, I need to have a net connection? :hmm: Darn...

Is there any workaround? I would really like to play some SP against bots to have a go at the new maps, as I won't get to play online for another five weeks..

It's at times like this I really appreciate Steam...I want a 'work in offline mode' or somethin'.

hey hey - there'll be no glorifying steam here
you think people had problems with Battlefield 2? The hell I have had since last December with Steam and Halflife 2 is the stuff of tragic comedy...
On the other hand i have never had any real complaints with Battlefield 2
        *shrugs
luck of the draw i guess

Yeah, it's just down to luck...I've never had any problems with Steam but I know lots of people have. :)

So, no hope for playing the offline element of the game offline?
