Question on which to buy?

I haven't bought either expansion pack yet and was wondering do you have to have SF to get Euro Force? Is SF worth getting? Does Euro Force have all the weapons SF has such as the L96a1? Pretty much should I just purchase both?Thanks

I would say get Special Forces because the gameplay has a much different feel than BF2 "vanilla" and the Euro Forces x-pack seems to be more of the same (based on my limited game play). However the servers hosting and people playing Special Forces seem to be dropping each day. It is sad because I enjoy playing SF. It also depends on what kind of game play you like. If you like maps that are more vehicle based, then get Euro Forces.

SF is definitly worth buying if you love bf2 cause it has a different flavor of gameplay and combat like grappling and zip linning...Euro forces has same gamplay, same combat, just different weapons, vehicles, and new maps.

Pilot whores should stay as far away from SF as they can get (or as far as their jets will take them).

Tank whores will love Euro Force, so get it as soon as you can (if you're a tank whore).

Ground pounders need to get SF as it is like Karkand on every map (with the new AA helos are rarely a problem in SF).

I have EF (and hate it) and SF (and love Warlord/Surge/MD/Ghost Town).

you dont need to buy SF in order to play EF.
and yes SF is nice.

I hate warlord is the laggiest map i ever play on.
But its nice.

I am torn on advice to offer.
While I have SF I really wouldnt recommend it to others simply due to the lack of support EA/dice will show in the future for it.
That and about 1/3 the ## of servers playing it.

I think you will see more EF and AF games in the future and see even less of SF. (Just my thoughts... cant guarentee this).

I would say stick with EF then AF when it comes out.

Dunno about EF, but definatley get SF. Its a great game, the maps are good, and you get those wonderful tier 2 weapons for vainilla BF2.

It really depends on what kind of maps you like to play. If you like Karkand, Mashtuur, Sharqi type of infantry maps, then steer clear of SF. If you think running around bumping into stuff is fun and night-vision green is your favorite color then by all means get SF. The daytime maps feel like Songhua, Zatar, Dragon Valley, Kubra - ie wide open vehicle maps. Better hope you don't spawn in the wrong place by mistakecause its a long long way to anywhere. Personally, I prefer infantry maps where you are not constantly being massacred by planes and helos as you scurry across great distances to reach the next flag. I also despise the sham of the "night vision" so obviously I don't reccomend SF. Some of the weapons are cool, though, so it might be worth it to you. Ziplines and grappling hooks are fun for about five minutes.

EF sucks, the maps are pretty much armor and air maps ie wide open, no cover, spawn, die to plane, spawn die to tank, spawn die to helo. The quarry map (sorry, forgot the name) is the lamest map I have ever seen. Even my 9 year old son said it looked like there was zero thought put into it. Its a big open field with a river down the middle with one crossing at the top and flags lining either side, with a tiny clump of buildings around the flag ala Daqing oilfields, only more sparse. Did I mention there's NO cover at all? Kind of reminds me of a kid with a magnifying glass (plane whores) and a bunch of ants (all us sorry ground pounders). Great wall looks cool for 30 seconds, and again huge map with no cover. I haven't player the other one enough to pass judgement yet, but my hopes aren't that high. It was only $10, so even though I think it sucks I don't feel ripped off.

Yeah I think EA even mentioned there were standard mesh problems with Iron Gator. I can't even walk around inside the carrier, it's like tryin to move on the carriers in bf1942 when they were in motion except the Gator is not moving!
