    Stop EA downloader autostarting

( If this has been covered before just point me in the right direction)

How do I stop the downloader starting every time I start xp.
I've looked at msconfig but it's not listed.
    Can anyone help.

right click the icon in the system tray and go to options it's in there or type
msconfig in the start>run and go to the startup tab and deselect the program from starting

      If you are having trouble...

      ...the registry entry resides here:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run

This is from the Planet Battlefield forum:

Go to the EA downloader edit menu and click on auto start. It will remove it from MSConfig and won't load on startup.

And if that doesn't work, the entry for EA Downloader in MSCONFIG is supposedly Core.exe (hence all the Core errors people have) so you can uncheck that one too.

I've read some of your posts and you are usualy pretty smart. But bloody hell, did you not read the question? I've been in msconfig and it's not listed. And as for right clicking the system tray icon. LOG OUT
          HELP
          ABOUT
          EXIT
          I see no options.

Thank's Talus but screwing with the registry is beyond my skills. But i have a feeling you may have the only fix to this problem.

Go to the start menu and click "run"
            type "msconfig"
            click on the "startup" tab
the item you are looking for is called "Core"

Click core so it no longer starts. Such a shame a company as large as EA that gets so much support from loyal customers needs to stoop to these tactics
