Are you 100% sure about this because I am 99.9% sure that you DO lose points. The only doubt comes from the fact that so many people think that you don't lose points for it.
I wish I were at home so I could play and test it.
first, all points - or + was removed from kills with arty
that means you get no points from any kills you get, and you get no negative points from getting tks, team damage, or team vehicle damage
the only points you get are from when your team neutralizes and captures flags, thats 2 points per flag
ive yet to verfy this one, but i believe when you drop a supply crate and you do 100% heal on a friendly you get a point

Yes, I'm sure. Everywhere that has listing on BF2 info agrees. And I've NEVER lost points for it. It's not a factor in command score.

100% wrong.
Its a formula, let me repeat it:
total points EARNED by your team (divided by) # of players on your team =
CO Score
Period. Been tested by plenty of people on this forum. Been verified more ways than I care to repeat. No points for supply drops, uav, arty, etc.. The idea is that you are playing to help your TEAM out. When you give them UAV, they are better equipped to kill the enemy, and therefore earn points for you from thier kills, caps, etc. If you give them supplies, you might repair a tank that then goes on a tear, earning you more points... Its all about supporting your team.....

You are the one that's wrong. The commander point system was changed in one of the patches. There is an in-depth explanation of it somewhere on this forum, taken straight from EA. It's a complex formula that honestly is too cumbersome to explain here.
The commander score is the sum of all commander points earned. The commander points are every point earned by a member of your team during your reign as commander divided by the total of living team members at the given time. This is multiplied by two at the end of the round, when your team wins, and only if you are still active commander at the end of the round. Artillery kills or any personal achievement does not add up to this number. Personal achievements besides artillery kills are added to your points in the round, and count as combat or team points.
Straight off the BF2S WIKI. Do you disagree with that?

So.. If I am on a 16 player team, then 16 points have to be scored before the commander sees a score of 1. I'll watch this more closely next time I'm a commander. Thanks for the info.
So much misinformation. I've done extensive study into this and will confirm what some have already said.
Commander points =
(sum) of points earned by your team (divided by) # of players on your team AT THE TIME THE POINT IS SCORED.
What this means is, if someone scores 2 points and there are 16 ALIVE players on the team, the commander get a fractional point of 2/16 = .125 points. Notice I said # of ALIVE players. If someone is respawning this doesn't count. So if there was 15 player alive, one respawning, the commander get a fractional point of 2/15 = .133 points.
Commander gets a fractional point of every point the team scores based on this formula. It's been tested and beaten to death.
What i hate is when the commander does NOTHING the entire round, you work hard for a bunch of points and a shiny gold star, then the noob commander gets his points doubled and steals it right from you.
Total EARNED by your team / divided by # of players = your score
PERIOD
I put emphasis on earned - any TK/team damage done by your team doesn't lower what they have 'earned'. Arty TK's don't count against your score. You do NOT get points for any kills either, and in fact, take kills away from your team, hurting their potential to earn those points for u. No points for spotting, etc....
Yes. I'm surprised people didn't actually know this :hmm:
