sound stuttering

I recently installed the new patch. Now every time I play I get sound stutter. It's really annoying and I didn't have it before. I have a soundblaster live 5.1, and I never had problems with it. I reinstalled the game and the patch, but it didn't help.. I put the sound settings to low, medium and high with and without EAX and it didn't fix the problem. I want to keep it on hardware, but I can try software, just to see if it's the hardware causing the problem. All other games don't have a single sound problem, so it's kinda weird..

anyone know the answer?

Try software...that seems to fix this exact problem.

In my experience...EVERY SBLive card experiences this exact same problem in hardware mode.

You'd have to go Audigy (except UK LS or US SE models) or higher to get Hardware mode running no problem.

thanks for the answer.. I fixed the problem though! I had to reinstall the sounddriver patch.. It works fine now even with eax on.

My old SBLive! value I had in my old tertiary machine cannot run in hardware mode.

my £350 sound card can only just about run in hardware mode, but its not designed for gaming so i dont think BF2 can use it properly.

EMU 1820M its really a professional audio recording card so its not optimised for gaming although EMU is now a devision of creative.
