    Re: Ultimate Squad?

Jason Bourne (SL because he's always one step ahead!)
    The Terminator
    Han Solo (pilot)
    Ellen Ripley
    Mad Max (driver)
    Chuck Norris

    I think it's a winning combination.

        SL---- spec ops
        Anti Tank
        Support
        engi.
        Medic
        Assault
Thats how I see it. All bases covered. Sniper? blah. Depends on the situation. But this is the crew I would want to attack flags.

Urban maps (are there any others?):

          Support (SL)
          *AT
          AT
          Medic
          Medic
          Spec Ops

In urban maps, who needs assault? It's fun to play sometimes, the armor is nifty (is that a mosquito stinging me, or did someone unlock the P90?), but the class is not useful enough to give up any of the above classes.

Support should be SL, and in the back, feeding the AT's more missiles (isn't that little bag great?). 1st AT on point (have rocket, will travel) 2nd AT and Spec ops on flanks. 2 "assault medics" behind, one close in, one farther out, both taking out targets at medium/medium long range (and healing/reviving, too:)). After sqaud caps point, spec ops plants C4 and waits for flag to turn white. BOOM.

Edit: you gotta, gotta, gotta have two AT's. otherwise, you might as well name your squad "12 points for tank hooker".

Only problem? Tough to find a decent squad on public servers!

            Re: Ultimate Squad?

Sl -it doesn't matter who exactly will be SL cause when he is down he leaves and join again is squad so next alive becomes SL.
            So:
            For Mecs
            1. Assault
            2. Support
            3. Medic
            4. AT guy
            5. AT guy
            6. Sniper

            For USA
            1. Assault
            2. Support
            3. Medic
            4. AT guy
            5. AT guy
            6. Medic

USA sniper sux for squad play. Bolt action is useless in close middle range combats. SVD rules - take down enemy infatry and AT guys fast enough to cover rest of the squad.

People that have mics, and people I know, then it would be this.

              Support (Squad Leader)
              Anti-Tank
              Anti-Tank
              Medic
              Medic
              Spec Ops

Any sqaud for an infantry based map that does not include two medics is CRAP!

                No offense.

                Mine:

                Medic
                Medic
                Support
                AT (DAO)
                AT (crap rifle)
                Assualt

                I would play any.

You have three armored guys two of which can effectively charge a position. . .tanks can easily be destroyed or at least scared away by TWO AT rockets. Medics can hang back a bit and be a good mid-range to long-range combat. And support, of course, to resupply and cover everything with the PKM. I would even considering doing away with the other assault and replacing him with another support.

                  Re: Ultimate Squad?

                  Support(SL) PKM sniping
                  SF
                  Medic
                  Medic
                  AT
                  AT

Could always dump the SF for another medic if you don't care about assets and are just capping. IMO, Medic is the best assault kit with the G36E, no reason to even consider assault or SF.

Yea, but the point is to design a squad that can handle most situations effectively - the enemy isn't going to stop wait for you to get the right people together.

                    That said, here's mine:
                    • Support (SL)
                    • Spec Ops
                    • Medic
                    • Medic
                    • Anti-Tank
                    • Anti-Tank

AT and Medic always work better in twos. Support is obvious for ammunition and body armor for the SL. Spec Ops is critical for assets, bridges, booby traps, and remote flag defense.

                    It's a fantastic setup - try it :)

                        Re: Ultimate Squad?

i notice most ppl dont include a sniper in there squad...hmm

                        my squad

                        sniper (sl) me
                        AT
                        spec ops
                        medic
                        support
                        grease monky

this is not a rush flag squad but a patience caping squad that DEFENDS

cap a base set up clay traps from me and mines from grease monky,

then on to the next flag, and repeat, cap trap and go.

but if there is only a few flags left i would stay to defend a flag with the medic so the whole team (not just my squad) has a option for a spawn point.

IMHO a sniper is important to have in a squad for spotting and yes taking out enemy snipers, and covering the team from infantary.
spottinf the enemy 300 yards before they get to you gives you a good chance of setting up a trap.

and covery fire from support and sniper keeps the enemy busy while spec ops / eng set up the trap.

not a typical squad set up but can work good for keeping the flag that bit longer.

this squad set up is what i use with me clan m8's dosent work that well when a team doesnt want you in there squad just becuase im a sniper,

but i dont care its only a game, but if you kick me from youre squad i will join the other team and make you wish u didn't :)

                          Nice thread.

                          For sure:

                          SL - Support
1 medic (2 is nice, but if your'e all on voice picking up his kit shoudnt be too big an issue).

The other 4, depends on map/actions. For roaming from flag to flag on an infantry map, I'd say 2 AT, 2 Assault. You could sub in that 2nd medic for one, depending on needs. Definatley no snipers And unless ur attacking a main, no real need for C4 (lack of chucking hurt this class).

                            Re: Ultimate Squad?

Well I picked the Sniper as squad leader for a variety of reasons:
                            1. Snipers tend to take up position in easily defended areas which are also difficult to hit with artillery (crane, small surface area rooftops etc)
                            2. Their claymores protect against infantry sneaking up on them
                            3. They have reasonable scopes that let them spot enemy units from a distance and alert their squad
                            4. They can heavily damage / kill enemy infantry before they encounter your squad (especially if they have the M95)
                            5. The survivability of the sniper makes him a reliable mobile spawn point for his squad
                            6. If he dies, he can be revived by the medic, or he can sprint from the nearest friendly flag to his squad. As a sniper his stamina for running is quite good and can therefore rejoin his squad in minimal time.

When their current objective is met and the squad is moving to the next one, the support squad member tops up the squad leaders claymores so he can protect himself while residing on the outskirts of the next objective while staying out of harms way

                              Re: Ultimate Squad?

                              AT
                              AT
                              Medic
                              Support
                              Medic

I would have 2 anti tank because if one of my teamates would spot a tank i would tell them to get rid of the tank or apc.

Support to give my men ammo

Medic to revive my men and heal them

                                The Ultimate squad:

                                :p

Seriously tho, I don't believe in a perfect squad. A good squad is adaptive to the role they need to preform. I have a couple rules of thumb tho:

When I'm SL, I prefer to be Support. The kit is well suited to the role. You don't have to worry about outrunning your squadmates and you're most effective when in a stand off firing position. Plus, that extra armour will help you stay alive long enough for a medic to tend to your wounds. Yeah, yeah... PKM is overpowered. I've been doing this since the early days, so don't label me a support whore, thanks.

I'll change this up if I'm doing Armour (then go with engie) or transport chopper duties (medic time).

I usually insist on having a medic that stays on my ass constantly. He should be close at hand at all times, 'cause if I go down, he needs to be there to do something about it.

In a defencive positon, the squad NEEDS AT support. Mines and C4 will do the job, but AT is more flexible and can save your arses when that attack chopper shows up. Medics aren't as critical when you're defending since your squad can respawn at the CP just as easy as on the SL. If the flag goes down, hopefully your SL is smart enough to have run off and hid someplace.

In a mobile opps role, you'd best have some firepower handy.
Spec opps are great since they can deal with just about any situation that may come up. Assault rocks if people know how to use smoke grenades well. A medic is critical since the SL is going to be exposed and he'd better be there to put you back on your feet.

More important than what kits you're using is the communications and teamwork of the squad. The single thing that's sure to annoy me the most is when I'm SL and I'm alone. SPAWN ON YOUR SL!! Unless you're collecting armour, there's never a good reason to not spawn on your SL. He should never be alone. And for the love of all that is unholy and mud/blood encrusted, use you're spot function! Even if you're on VOIP, nothing beats a blinking red tank to warn your mates of impending doom!

Note: Much of this is rendered moot if you're squad hopping/cycling... but when I'm playing in pubs, I generally don't. It's much more fun to have a stable and functional squad going than to randomly bounce from squad to squad effectivly lonewolfing.
