3 Gamespy name changes used up!!!

Hi
I've accidently used up my 3 Gamespy name changes in the EA Downloader and as such, can't appear to play EF booster pack - anyone got any ideas other than having to wait for another week!!!
I try and start the booster pack and just get the message that it isn't installed on my computer, but i paid for it and have downloaded it twice now, but still nothing...
I know it's probably to do with the Gamespy login details and as i've stated above, that's another week off resolving - can anyone suggest anything that i mmay be able to do in order to play this add-on i've paid for?

Did you change your profile name at all to try and add a prefix before they patched it to allow you to enter a prefix? If so make sure you change it back. The gamespy name that appears in your profile is tied to the gamespy name that you choose when you log into your EA account. There is a shortcut on EA dowloader to log in and change the name of the gamespy name that your Euro Force installation is tied to. You have to do this if you use more than one account to play online or if more than one person in your household uses the game and all have different accounts.

You can still play but only with the BF2 name that's linked to EF and will be for the next 7 days.

You can see what BF2 login is associated with EF right ?

Fixed? What's broken? If you don't change it 3 times then it doesn't affect you.

However, if this issue isn't affecting you, then please don't post.

The gamespy nick system is hosed. If there were more than 3 attempts, perhaps folks could find a way to work it out. However, this is an EA imposed limitation. How do I know? Because I can go to login.gamespyid.com and change my nick 30 times in 5 minutes if I want.

EA needs to remove the 3 attempt limitation until this gamespy nick issue gets sorted.

It's busted and it's causing more problems (right now) than it solves.

So, you seeing the picture now?

I have really read te whole thread, but It happend to me when I entered my gamespy name i just put my email address cos i dont use gamespy, what i didnt realise was that is supposed to be your battlefeild name so put that in and it will work.

Actually it is affecting me. EF is stuck on an account 'Ponster' with zero points while I normally use 'ptegan1984' with 15,000 so I too have to wait a week to fix it knowing that it's stuck on 'ponster' because it wouldn't accept 'ptegan1984'

Believe me, EA know about the 3-change limit (they didn't until them came to this forum btw) and I think they need to lift the limit, or get Gamespy to do so, until people actually get things sorted out.

I can't imagine why anyone would need to change their account name more than 3 times in a week, I have 2 accounts, 1 with 86k points and one I started recently at 4k points. Changing back and forth between the 2 doesn't even cross my mind, what is the reason you need to change accounts so often? I understand that they will probably patch it, but I just don't get why you need to change it. And this is only to play EF. (3 maps)

My daughter and I each have accounts on the same computer. BF2 and SF allowed us both to log in and out as many times as we wanted to; why does EF change the rules for us? And it's not just to play those three maps, it would have to be every time we played because we wouldn't know when we logged on if one of the new maps would come up in rotation on the server we happened to get on.

i have this same problem, but the thing is my name in the double blank matches my bf name and it still says its not installed. any ideas?

So if a map comes up, and it's EF you get bounced from the server... big deal. If I want to play EF I will go to a server that shows EF maps. I guess I understand having more than one person using the same computer to play the game in your situation would make you want to change your name. Perhaps they will change this limitation, but maybe this was done on purpose to cut down on account server activity?

My problem is i'm UK based and haven't used Gamespy for maybe 3/ 4 years.
When it said you had to have a Gamespy account to run EF, i tried using my old one, but i've moved address, so couldn't get the confirmation email retrieved from that address.
Next tried making a new one, but put my email address in my name slot due to seeing " Enter email here"! That's what messed it up, so when i finally got round to looking at the EA section, i tried changing firstly my emai address, then my password - stupidly remembering information advised when i starting using computers an Eon ago " Never use the same password twice as a hacker will be able to sting you..."! Yep, a **** i know! - and finally i clicked onto the fact that my BF2 account name and password is what they were after, but by this time it was way too late....
So, i'll have to wait a week before playing 'cause i ain't starting a new acount and messing around anymore with what was the greatest game released 8 months ago but after useless pacthes and then now this EA Downloader bollocks has been turned into a sorry sack of shyte....
Who's bright idea was it at EA/ Dice to make you have a Gamespy account anyway?!
