    oh dear!

i just wanted to comment on this new EUROFORCES to the rest of the forums...
i got it last night...seeming as i am the type of player that most of the time plays city maps - sharqi, karkand, warlord, etc etc i am rather disappointed...all 3 of the new maps are about vehicles / tanks...
they are all big open maps...
i also spend a lot of the time in tanks - so was keen to try out these new euro tanks...however i find them very difficult to drive - anyone else find this?

These maps are not so much about tanks as they are about blowing up tanks with Jets.

A Jet Pilots heaven, A armour driver or infantry players hell.

Another 3 mediocre maps at most.

If people want expert pilot, then these are the maps to play. Machine wars never suited me well.

Jets are my thing in BF2, but even I wish they had been left out of at least one of the tank heavy maps. Smoke Screen would have been great with no jets. We already have maps that revolve around infantry, we already have maps that revolve around the guys in the air, what we don't have in BF2 are maps where large armor battles rule. Having 10 tanks fighting it out in the open desert on Smoke Screen is awesome, except that sooner or later a jet comes in and steals the glory for one side.

As far as driving the new tanks, I find it a bit annoying as well. The problem is that you have no reference as to exactly where you are pointed. In the other tanks you can see the front corners of the tank and it makes it much easier to align yourself, particularly when trying to get through a narrow area.

um the tanks drive fun. and yes with jets it makes it more fun, but remember all u need are descent pilots on ur side and there are enough aa's and anti air 's around to not bother them. i have not gotten killed by a plane yet in a tank, and have 8 hrs of euro in.

In the middle bottom of your screen a small icon shows you where your turret is in relation to the body of the tank. A pain and not as simple yes, but hopefully it'll give you some refrence.

Yes exactly. I understand the little tank diagram, however the other tanks can be aligned much more easily simply because you have the front corners in sight. Particularly when trying to navigate a tight archway or going between buildings, in the other tanks you will know at a glance if you are going to make it through but with the two new tanks you are much more prone to bumping into walls or getting stuck on corners and such.

Very true, with good pilots and AA, air problem solved.:)

What you are relying on here though are actually having decently matched pilots on each sides to keep each other occupied and away from unabated armour bombing runs. From my experience generally the scales are heavily tipped. The times when I have found myself unmatched in the jets I have wracked up insanely high scores by taking out armour and bombing bases. The times when I have found myself out competed in Jets I have found them an absolute chore to fly, resort to jumping in armour instead and continually getting blown to hell by missiles from knowhere (jets).

Admit it all u keeno's, EF will not last......two of the maps rank as being two of the worst BF2 maps avaialble and the Great Wall level is interesting at most.
