Medic whoring on karkand = much more points than on warlord.

Besides, warlord is just as laggy and twice the size.

But i would have to agree with you to a degree, warlord is the karkand in SF and the only good map there is. If i feel a sudden notion to play SF, it's only because of warlord.

Maybe EA could save the game if they totally removed all vehicles from the game (except for a few larger maps), addressed the performance issues, and improved the gameplay on night maps. This game would have been 10x better if it had been only infantry combat with a few transport vehicles. I doubt this, though.

I personally really liked SF, but between teh extra hardware needed, the lag when in choppers/ night maps and ESPECIALLY the need to exit out of regular BF2 to play it, that is why i don't play SF very much anymore.

I have played unranked karkand with no vehicles, and i have to say those were some of the most intense battles i have ever been in.

The reasons I don't play SF as much as BF2 is:

              1. Horrible issues such as getting a blue screen on night maps at random times.

              2. Video lag issues

              3. I hate waiting to reload the map after getting blue screens on the same maps over and over again.

when it 1st came out i played SF maybe 3-4 times and said F*CK this and havent played it until a week or 2 ago. what a dumbass i was! SF is really fun. the problem for me was that i hated the night maps and lag. i have found daytime only servers with little to no lag so i am so happy. warlord, ghost town, surge and mass destruction are great maps and i love the vehicles and armies... i could go on and on...

just incase anyone has had trouble finding daytime only servers here are some i have found

64.34.180.238 -sf day maps 2 rounds
85.236.100.14 -sf day maps 1 round

The problem with SF, IMO, is that it is basicly a separate game from BF2, in that you can't have vanilla BF2 maps and SF maps on the same server. The added weapons, zip line and grapple hook are specific to SF; i believe the contents of SF should be added to the original, to expand its gameplay...

In the end, SF is a small, individual game with the BF2 name on it.. The use of the words "Expansion Pack" are misleading.

Until EA/Dice catches a clue and makes SF into what the "Booster packs" are, ie. seemless additions to the original game, SF will suffer as an unpopular game..

Also, they need daytime versions of the night maps...

Like some have said I think the main reason is that you have to completely swich games in order to play either one. Why Dice didn't make Special Forces simple additions to Bf2 Vanilla is beyond me.

I pretty much only play sf.

I think if ppl are having problems with lag/their system, then of course they will hate it.
If you can run it good (like me) then its literally the bomb.

I like SF but wish it had more maps, and I wish you could play against regular BF2 troops.

Im an infantry combat DUDE, Which is the primary reason I bought hte game, for what its worth, I love the maps that endorse infantry combat.. If thats your thing, I think SF is BETTER. (GRAPPLES WHOOOHOO).
But I would have to agree with everyone else.. the nightvision thing, although cool serves no real purpose other than the GEE WHIZ factor... I HATE those NV goggles ....

Im also a infantry guy, I've spent 77% of my total time playing on the ground fighting (If I did the math correctly ) and I don't find SF that great, I find Sharqi/Karkand/Mash a lot better thanks to choke points etc, just creates for more hectic battles in my opinion.

                                I play SF less because:
                                A. Vanilla BF2 can be launched through Xfire, not SF. I'm lazy
                                B. I like many more of the Vanilla BF2 maps
                                C. Vanilla BF2 has a bigger variety of weapons between the armies
                                D. Vanilla BF2 has less lag
