  • Quiet Mic Issue

For some reason, my mic is being stupid on BF2. I can hear other people fine but they can't hear me, my mic is quiet. I have tried changing the settings trough both windows and BF2 and for some reason when do threshhold tests it doesn't pick up the mic. It had never given me trouble until recently (i can't pinpoint exactly when as i don't use the mic too often) but now when i do i am inaudible. I have tried everything i know how to do, anyone have any new advice?

When you are doing the threshold test in BF2 turn on the Windows Sound Boost thing.

I have been using my Logitech PS2 headset for PC use for a while now, with no problems. But ever since I added a Creative X-FI soundcard , my VOIP has been "broken". It works in every other app I have tried, but not BF2.

So I guess my question is... are you using an X-FI card ?

Honestly I'm not sure, i got this computer from a company that was downsizing and didn't need it so i am not 100% sure of what hardware it has. However, the mic had always worked just fine until recently.

Mine headset is Altec Lansing 302i and it was doing the same thing because of sharing IRQ. Once reconfiged it works.

I have the exact same problem when I added X-Fi recently. All my other games and programs are fine, but BF2 mic is VERY VERY QUIET.
