What is the point of having to go to My Account in the EA Website to switch Gamespy Ingame names?

I have 4 people who use my computer to play this game and having to log into EA everytime to change my name is ridiculous!

I just don't see the logic in that

You can't just log into the Downloader and change it- there is a limit of doing so. 3 times a week only.

So you could play it with your nick, change it to a friend's, then back to yours, and that's it. No other account could use it for the rest of the week.

The only solution to bypass the 3x limit with multiple accounts would be to purchase 4+ copies of EF. $40? Not worth it, imo.

In my case, it's absolutely rediculous. I have one SHARED computer in my household that we take turns playing using our own accounts. With BF2 and SF, this was no problem as you could just buy ONE copy of the game for the single computer and play those multiple accounts.

Now, EA expects us to buy a copy for each account now (3x per week is useless).

Even though only me and my brother share this computer, say we had 5 accounts (just imagine it theoretically). All figures below in Canadian dollars:

1 x $60 = $60 for BF2 for 5 accounts
1 x $40 = $40 for BF2 SF for 5 accounts
5 x $12.50 = $62.50 for EF for 5 accounts

Now in doing that math, does that make ANY sense whatsoever??? If you had 5 accounts for whatever reason, you would have to purchase 5 copies of the EF booster, and you would end up paying more for the booster than the original game itself. Did EA think of that? Probably not...

You have to keep in mind how software works. Games are software just like Microsoft Word is software.

Software is sold as individual licenses. Not the "individual" part. When you buy software, you don't actually own the software. You only own the right to use it. If you owned the software, it would be yours to do with whatever you want. Copy it, resell it, modify it and resell it....whatever.

But we all know you aren't allowed to do any of those things with your BF2 game you bought. you can't copy it, you definately can't modify it and resell it. You can't copy it and give copies to all your room mates. You only have the right to play it yourself.

I know, I know, its all BS....But that's they way the lawyers set it up!

So, the only real solution is to get 4 copies of BF2 and have 4 different installs on your 1 hard drive! LOL

I understand that but that's like saying that no one else in my family can use Microsoft Word because I purchased it.

We don't all play at the same time, in fact my older brother does have his own copy of BF2 and SF on a different computer.

How many folk have had EA pinch an extra £1 out of thier account....hence making EF cost not £6 but £7.
